Correct. McCaffrey is well known to be a toxic influence dating back to her HS and college days. She had done nothing for the Breakers this season. The team was counting on her to be the point of the attacking spear, and she was not delivering. Under those circumstances, a me first, diva attitude makes for a poor teammate, especially when the team is bottom of the table. No doubt Beard saw the hand writing on the wall, and took his first opportunity to ship her to Chicago.

It seems like there are unprofessional postings all around. I'm equally surprised by a professional organization posting here. And I offer that as a fan, who has followed the Breakers for years, including when they were fun to watch. It's a vicious cycle when a team is at the bottom. It's hard to recruit, which makes it hard to improve. Players get disgruntled. Management gets disgruntled. But it is obvious that there is no joy on the field.

This team has lost 11 out of 13 games. That's hard to do for a professional soccer team. Their goal differential is -23 and the next closest team to that is -2.

This season is lost. They have some decent young players. Most sports team would do exactly what they just did and trade an unhappy star player for draft picks at this point and rebuild. I like this recent trade for all parties it just doesn't help the team for this year. They should play their younger promising players the entire game now and get them valuable experience. They should get developmental resources in place for next year that player feel that by coming here they will continue to grow as players. If they feel the can't develop here then that's a big problem that has to change.

Sure, except that said star player was acquired initially using the same thought process. At some point, you cannot simply fire all of the players.

BB should have been gone,a long time ago, and Whitehall should be coaching this team. Just my 2 cents.
