    Girls need College Looks

What club is most productive at getting their girls signed for College? Not talking about sending a kid to Idaho either.

ODP, Summer College ID camps, Guest play at big tourneys. We saw more college coaches at Disney than CASL, Orange Classic, and Adidas cup combined, regardless of what their flyers say.

Out of state teams will pick up Florida guest players simply because they will show up due to proximity. Risk is as a guest player team doesn't know them and they might not get field time. Most teams at Disney are solid, a few slip in that need work.

Simply our experience. If D1 schools don't seem interested, consider D2's. Depends on if your kid wants to play. It's tough for a gamer to sit out a whole season, or 2 waiting to play, especially if the new, hot prospect joins the team.

No question ECNL and DA. The stats back it up. Not just showcases and playoffs. We regularly have coaches attend league games and practices. If your kid is serious about playing in college, it is worth the drive.

True. Also a lot of transferring in soccer. Most football programs will not grant a release on a scholarship athlete so they have to sit out a year if they want to transfer. Seems the small money in soccer scholarships doesn't cost the coaches as much so they grant releases and kids can transfer without losing a year.

our club weekly has coaches at their training, boys and girls. not just watching out teams at big showcases. we are not ecnl, though we do have DA which helps to bring them in for girls too. being in a non-ecnl club in florida is not a problem for recruiting.

The main responsibility lies with the family/player. Contact the coaches you want to see you play. After that, most of the prominent clubs will get to the right tournaments.

ID camps can be a crap shoot but worth a shot once you have narrowed down school choices. Go to the camps hosted by the schools you want. Make sure to contact the coach multiple times in advance.

Otherwise, the "cream" rises to the top. The top players get asked to participate in higher level tournaments or camps that gain exposure at the more elite programs.
