As a parent that had 2 kids play high level DA and MLS DA, this is absolute truth. The DA will help the MLS DA player get into a high level D1 school but for the rest it is a waste of time and money.

DA is in trouble if MLS pulls out its over RED league only way to go !

MLS can't pullout of DA. The cost of travel for the younger teams is too high. Also, the younger non MLS teams are still competing with the MLS DA programs, so an MLS only DA is not needed.

Sure they can. They partner up with USL as their farm teams, then only bring up the most talented for U19 teams, maybe U17 at the most. They drop all the other ages and use the substantial savings for travel. They can also work around travel by doing regional mini "tournaments" over a few days. Plus if you buy into the DA creed, isn't it more about the training, not the games?

Take a look at the commitment lists each year. Poster is spot on. You can land at mid to lower level D1, D2 or D3 without DA. Top D1 you almost have to have DA or a foreign passport.

Let’s assume you are talking boys. Please make sure you and your kid are ready for a serious dose of reality if you’ve never been a part of the DA in the past.

Can someone provide accurate details on the training, academy style with same age groups?
4 days a week. A and B licensed coaches. Speed and agility and strength training. Video analysis. Opponent video preparation. Technical sessions. Tactical sessions. Position specific sessions.

Travel? how much?
Southeast Conference includes clubs from NC, GA, and FL. So, Miami to Charlotte/Raleigh. Showcases in San Diego for U15’s and U17’s , Dallas or Chicago for U13’s and U14’s.

Competition?
The best clubs, the best teams, and the overwhelming majority of the best players.

Can kids play any other sport in HS?
No soccer. Other sports are allowed, but it’s a 10 month season. Good luck finding the time.
