Oh please. Stop trying to look for issues where there are none. It's a convenient, well-run local tournament. Clubs participate to support one another. And yes, nearly all TBU clubs have to be there - one exception is going to WAGS but the rest are waiting to travel until later in the fall.

These 3 teams are in the bottom of FSPL, so this is a good tournament for them. Its a shame they send more money to play the same teams and a bunch of Rec teams.

Not sure how 4th and 8th in FSPL is bottom of the barrel, but whatever makes you feel better.

Good luck to them, didn't they lose 6-0 to Florida Fire and are only winning against 80th placed teams 5-0. Have fun dad!

Reality check, FSPL has strong teams and weak teams. FYSA should have capped it at 12 teams unless inlcuding State Cup sweet sixteen would put the age group over 12.

you mean the florida fire who just tied IRSA 0-0 who is ranked 81st?

Either you can score goals or you can't. No amount of "coaching" is going to fix that.

Sixteen is the right number. It is better to have an unworthy team than to exclude a team that should be there. This league has only been around a couple of years. It should get stronger as teams and players learn that it exists. While the league may have a few weak teams now, that should change in the coming years. If teams in the top 30 make up DA/ECNL, National/Regional and FSPL, then it is working. Clubs need to participate to make it work.

Also CDL and USA should merge.

Sorry, but traveling to beat a team by 5 or more goals is not time or money well spent. 12 teams would be better. The true top teams are in R3PL and ECNL. So FSPL may have the next 4-12th team, which many play in NPL too. So for the truely elite teams 12 is enough.

Ideally you are correct, but ECNL teams are based on the club and not the quality of every team at every age group within the club. Just ask Boca United whose teams are for the most part getting hammered every weekend. In the R3PL there are multiple teams from other states ranked over 1000 in Got Soccer and again getting hammered. While they may not be in the top bracket, they are still in the league. The JFC Elite U17G took the place of the JFC Storm top team in R3PL and will most likely lose every game with an occasional tie with other state's equally weak teams. There are many teams not in these leagues that can compete and beat many teams that are in. Just saying!!
