Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYou win TS today sir. Tiny little hot and arid Morocco had no chance, especially in light of the way Qatar got the bid (bribes) and it being a horrible place to host it. It also was going to have to build huge infrastructure while North America is ready to roll. Another poor country shouldn't be burdened with that - just ask Brazil if they're glad they did WC and the Olympics. The US alone might have gotten it, but all three sealed the deal. Trump didn't have a g-dam thing to do with it. In fact, having our neighbors involved probably helped neutralize him. He's not exactly winning friends internationally these days, except with dictators

Immigration and border issues? Trump cares about those only to get votes. He is long gone by world cup time and he will no longer need to pretend that he cares.

Good point. There will most certainly not be any wall for teams or fans to contend with. Just what the was code for. But wall fans are not watching the world cup anyway.

So, today's lesson is nobody cares about his rhetoric. He managed to offend virtually every country in the world, seemingly putting the bid in peril. But, money talks...and once they realized it they voted with their wallets.
So, just another day in his administration. Offend, mock, create havoc...but money will always talk.

As to soccer, Trump's son plays DA for DC United.
