Hard to fit referring in when you're a club player, traveling all over for games, let alone any work of substance. Kids should have skin in the game even if it isn't a large amount. It also isn't about the $ but also responsibility, seeing it isn't easy working + hour shifts on your feet, etc. My oldest had a horrible, grueling summer job that paid well but was physically brutal. He vowed never again but also gained a great appreciation for the people who do. That is a good life lesson.

This world needs more kids who don't expect everything to be handed to them. My kids are expected to earn their own misc spending money while in college. We just cover the essentials.

If players had to earn the money to cover their soccer training and expenses, soccer would look very very different. lol. that would be very interesting to see.

Minimum wage doesn't pay those bills. It's not even easy for HS aged kids to get jobs that we used to have - now college kids and even adults take them. The McD's near us is like Sunset Retirement Village

Exactly. I meant what would immediately get cut out if the customers were the kids with their kid budgets.

They didn't qualify in all age groups.

Is this nationwide or just from Northeast?

Top three teams from each region make playoffs. There's usually 1-2 wildcards per region as well. The other teams all are showcase teams.

Except the 18/19 age group there are only 2 team from each division (there are 7 divisions and 3 "conferences"/ central east and west) plus 2 wild cards for total of 16 teams in the playoffs. There are 11 total wild cards in all ages except the olderst. The wild cards are based on points per game. They could all theoretically be from the same division. In fact there is at least one from each division, but there are three from southwest.

That's unfortunate - you want the top teams there even if everyone is done recruiting. But, if you're done, do you want to spend the time and money and take injury risks?

How does that work? Does the club decline the invite? The team? Who gets to make this decision? Can younger age group teams also decline?

I know in a perfect world everyone would like to accept and go but the world is not perfect do sometimes qualifying for a playoff us a burden and not a prize if the playoff is in a remote locationi
