Your just being negative. Nothing wrong with the girls program
This is not negative at all. It's a fact that Clearwater does not dispute. Best girls in the area in the area are routinely encouraged to go play at TBU and best boys would be encouraged to go to Clearwater. But this merger may change that dynamic.

Fake news is that Clearwater has a competitive girls program. Show one commitment announcement from there!

If you don’t like Clearwater then tryout somewhere else. The 20 girls left in the program love it

Big time fake news. IMG's biggest interest is in making money to supplement their other sports. They do this with ridiculously priced tuition and camps that only silly rich parents will pay. Merging with any club would in no way serve any purpose.

Pretty clear from the original post that this is not about clearwater at all but about West Florida and IMG so settle down charger girl. Have fun in the CDL.

This is actually a sad post because there are still people out there that don't realize that IMG is all about results and the are many many players there on full and partial scholarship and are allowed to come so long as they play. It's the suckers or parents of the lesser players that pay full boat.

Full scholarships for girls DA? Don't think so. Partial from 30-50k affordable? 👌 DA shouldn't be a pay to play. How does that encourage the discovery of future national team talent (DAs goal)? Pay to play is what is wrong with soccer here in US.

                      - to answer another thread.... This is why ECNL is currently better- opinion.

30K+ is a bargain if you consider what you get for that. Room & board, training, no extra fees. I'm sure most of us are paying at least 10000 when you add up all the fees and travel!

Also, I know of 2 girls there on full scholarship and a couple commuters with fees in line with other clubs so YMMV.

Affiliation not ridiculous to stem the tide of the TBU girls juggernaut!

30k +... that would be school only, unless you have a relative that already attends. To your last.. You either have no clue or you have a child that attends and are propagating because you feel an idiot paying for a patch.

Our daughter was heavily recruited by IMG for a GDA "position of need" that they were having a hard time filling in a certain age group. She would have been commuting from St. Petersburg. There was no talk of "full scholarships" or deep discounts for "commuters." Plus, as a "commuter" they demanded that our kid attend school there, even though we have heard the education level was lacking. We walked.

Sounds like to didn't get far enough down the road with the process. You were probably close to getting the fee breakdown, but since you walked they didn't get that far.

This was the position a few years back and the new policy does not apply to returning students. We trained there and was offered 85% to attend this coming year. Things are very different now. IMG wants to be a soccer powerhouse (maybe because us has world cup coming) like they are in football. Once that is accomplished via affiliation, scholarship and grants, they will revert back to prior model because they will have all the leverage to attract the elite player. Its smart business!
