All their DA teams were playing ECNL the season before and were ranked poorly even then... It's not like they started from scratch - and yes their teams and development are in decline - sad to see... the kids need development

And I will sell you a $70K spot on the older IMG team a year, to pay for Florida virtual school which is free while your daughter shacks up with the football team

Amazing the idiot haters on here - must be a tough pill to swallow that WFF is in decline - when you know it's true... if you're being honest and pragmatic about things rather than trying to attack - It really is ok - most clubs are struggling with development... WFF is lagging further behind than some others... that's ok too... Just identify the problem and work towards fixing it... Attacking others for calling out the obvious just makes you look like a bumbling idiot

Does WFF really want to count up the goals for & goals against for all four of their GDA teams for the first year?
A head's up, it was not good. At all. Not even remotely good.
WFF is a long, long way from being in the zipcode of competitive.

Ask me if her college coach cares about the overall performance of the team, or just her? Lets see Braden river a u14 maybe, U15- not committed yet, now with recruiting rules changed Won't be talked to before Junior year- well maybe in a year or two you will figure it all out because certainly don't see your daughter a 2021 or 2022 more than likely on any committed list- good luck. No crawl back in your hole and STFU.

Nice deflection from the facts, well played.
WFF still sucks & sucks more every day.
Your commit list has shrunk every year Slinky has been in charge, own it.

Only point being made here is that BR actually developed which was great to see, and they had success against clubs like WFF and it seems that is rubbing those WFF the wrong way? It's clear to see that WFF is not developing players (some develop in spite of them with personalized training and extra work outside of their program). Wins and losses aside, it's very evident when you watch them play and it's a disappointment for the kids. The parents should demand better. Really sucks for the kids because we all know many of them could play at a higher level

THIS IS NOT A WFF thread ... go start your own thread and fight with TBU on it.

What do you do afterU14-u15? Go back to FYSA? Drive to FC prime? Or pay 70k to see if you can make IMG importing their kids from all over the country?

Sounds like someone struck a nerve! All you people thinking that there's some magic to the club you play at! I have news for you. Most coaches aren't that great in florida... and there's some great ones in many other places that don't get enough credit because they'd never want to deal with all the BS that goes on at some of the big clubs you're mentioning... they just want to develop players that have a genuine love for the game. FIND THAT COACH and don't worry about what club you find THAT COACH at and what patch is on your sleeve. THAT COACH doesn't exist AT MOST of the big clubs in Florida that you keep mentioning so keep dreaming.

Agreed, take a close look at TBU. They are dedicated to providing a great experience to players of all levels of ability. If your child/family has a level of dedication for the game then TBU can match you up with the appropriate level of commitment. Some families want to put more in, some want to put less in. TBU is large enough and diverse enough that they can match you up.

I tend to agree. Many excellent coaches are not wanted by big clubs -or as a matter of fact by mall clubs, either - including the development academy, simply because they are not willing to follow the, mostly flawed, protocols these institutions developed and want to force on everyone.

Yes! We're starting to finally make some progress on this post! Fear of missing out is alive and well. Once folks realize the "big clubs" are nothing but money machines and the real development happens in small pockets in any number of obscure places and has nothing to do with the jersey the kids wear it changes everything.

All it takes is a kid willing to learn and work hard, matched up with the right coach. Simple as that. Then the talent of the kid will take them as far as their gift brings them irregardless of anything else. Just keep working hard and stay focused and let the coach mentor and develop and stay out of their way.

If you find a great coach at some small club those can be some really great options. Your kid may go farther, be happier, learn more and actually reach their real their full potential, rather than get pushed into a system where they are just a number and quits because the environment is sub par

The old romantic vision of the "small club." We've tried the small club, the medium club and the big club. You can make sweeping generalizations about each of them. They each have their potential strengths and weaknesses but if your kid has talent and is self-motivated to really play at higher levels, they should join a big club no later than 13 years old. Assuming the big club is well run, your kid will simply have more access to coaches, players, competition, leagues, college exposure, etc.

The romantic notion that it only takes one coach and one player is just unrealistic. Our daughter found a fantastic coach at a small club when she 12 and she improved leaps and bounds in one season. Next season, his wife was transferred to Chicago and he was gone. His replacement - terrible. Plus, let's just assume that one coach is great at the small club. Is that coach going to stay with your kid's team for another 5-6 years until they graduate? Kids should have a different coach every couple of years of they are to improve.
