    raffle

People, it is not only the younger ages that is being told to pay the money for the raffle tickets not sold. Its every team. You guys act like it is only the younger ages that are being told to pay for the tickets not sold.

For the parents saying it is not fair the money is going to the older ages in state cup, you parents act like you will be doing fundraisers every year until there kids are 16,17,18. It does not work like that, parents don't do fundraisers every year 4 times a year when the kids are older.

So when your child is 16,17,18 and they want to go to state cup and all of the tournaments, don't go asking the club to give you money for all of the registrations because that is what you want right? come back in 5 years and tell me that you are still doing fundraisers for your kids and don't need help from the club.

With all due respect this is the worst argument yet. There is NO REASON you cant fund raise when your kids are 16,17 or 18. If you want to go to a tournament either pay for it out of pocket, do funraisers (car wash, sponsorships) or DONT ATTEND IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT! The solution should not be to have others fundraise for your trip. Seriously are you kidding me.

its not that you cant fundraise, but you wont. The older the kids get the less input and excitement the parents get of traveling with their kids, fundraising with them, or just even going to games.

And the money that is given to older teams is only registration for the state cup and regionals. Hotels and transportation is out of parents pockets. You guys think that the fundraising money goes all to the older age groups for all expenses, but that's not how it is.

Its the parents fault for not selling all of the tickets, because if they did they wouldn't have to pay for them there selves. And if the parents would have sold all their tickets they would have gotten money back

And what the hell is BOD?

THE STATE CUP AND REGION CUP HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PAID FOR BY THE CLUB WITHOUT THE USE OF A RAFFLE.

The raffle was created last year to fund showcases for u16/17. Those are the only teams getting money unless a team sells all their allotted tix and they get $500. Which we all know is impossible to sell all ur allotted tix. Case in point, how many teams sold all their tix last year and got $500.... Zero.

BTW if you think its just "1 or 2" parents that are upset about the raffle and being fined for not meeting a "quota". You don't have the pulse of ur own club. You can't step on the practice field without parents voicing their displeasure and discussing recourse. Just check out the number of views to this thread in a short time.
Last year not in contract. This year in contract stop whining and read ur contract next time

Parents do not have to pay it is illegal for a 501-3c to "force" anyone to fund raise for a non profit. I am laughing at the club if they are gonna gets parents to pay.
Please identify yourself so I can begin laughing when ur kicked out of the club for not paying. Under fysa rules unsettled obligations follow you and you cannot register anywhere else unless you satisfy your obligation. Please stop laughing and start knocking on doors.

If you sign up your kid to play travel soccer at ANY AGE you do so with the understanding that there will be added expenses such as tournament reg., travel expenses etc. If you can't cover those expenses and/or you're not willing to do fundraisers for your own team then your kid shouldn't play travel soccer. You seriously expect the U8's to hussle around for your 17 yr old to go to tournaments!? Come on man. BTW I know plenty of parents of older kids that are involved and fundraise. If you choose not to or your team chooses not to that's on you guys, NOT THE REST OF THE CLUB.

On your second point, it's not the parents fault for not selling their tickets it's the clubs fault for coming up with a flawed plan that puts the burden on parents and players of the younger team sthat won't reap the same rewards as the older teams.

The contract states the parent(s) agree to participate and fund raise $150 per player during the yr. It does NOT specifically state anything about agreeing to selling raffle tickets. It just says participate in fund raising. That being said I'm sure all of us have fund raised $150 so far for our kids whether it's through fund raising for our team or paying for tournaments. So there you go we are all in compliance with the contract we signed. No mention of a raffle.

exactly. Thank you!!!! No mention of the raffle. They are very vague and did not clearly tell the parents. they force you to check the box or it would not take your registration.

We did. It is basically last years contract and per USA federal law for non profit 501 3-c they cannot force you to fundraise arse.

They will not do anything except pressure parents, bla bla bla.
All talk. They know ( the BOD ) cannot charge someones card or fine players. LOL, they know this. All they are doing is warning people with hot air and gas.
