    Brandon Area United FC

Brandon, Valrico, Players Club and FishHawk to start talking about a merger soon. This is the best thing that could happen to this area. Make it happen board members/DOCs and anyone else that has any say in this matter.

I do know that Valrico, Fish Hawk, and Player's Club have been in talks. DS from VSC has been seen at Fish Hawk and Romildo has been over to Valrico several times as well. Something is definitely in the works, but we will have to wait and see if it actually materializes this time. I have not heard anything about Brandon being in these talks though it would be great if they were part of the package.

Anytime someone gets new fields the older clubs start sniffing around ftalkign about a merger. they are not interested in the players or combining teams and making it a more well rounded club all they are looking for is new fields for their existing teams to play on. They call it a merger but it is more of an over-running and the players that had a chance to progress and grow withe the club that is over run is left in the dust and forgotten about. Anyone who has had expirence with these older clubs knows this to be true. While it could be a good thig for the area if the motives were correct be very careful too often there are ulterior motives and the smaller clubs lose out

another bad idea,,,give people options not everyone want to do the same thing or have the club they play at run the same way....let clube develop their own personality and style not pay some jerkoff DOC to take the money and only pay attention to the favorites from his original club... poor idea as far as what is best for the Kids and their growth

DS must be nervous about his future. VSC is shrinking dramatically. The only way that guy gives up full control is if it is his only option. That time may be coming.

Brandon had new board elections and the new members want to push for a merger with the above clubs. I heard it myself from one of the members

exactly,,they want the fields for themselves and care nothing about the players from those clubs or the trainers there. If you are one of the smaller clubs be very careful adn do not expect your players on the better teams your team will get dispersed and their tops ones will stay the same leaving you behind

There will be no merger between Valrico and Player's Club now or ever if DS and Romildo are in charge. One of these guys have an issue with control, it isn't about the kids playing the game, it is all about MONEY! I hate to say it, and never truly thought it was, but MONEY really is the root of all evil.

Truly, If you are a soccer DOC or whatever the title is, what is the difference between $90K and 100K with really no chance of a whole lot more? Nothing!

Don't they need to get this resolved in the next couple of months before tryouts take place?

You may want to consult a map. Plant City is farther east than any of the clubs that you included in Hillsborough East and it isn't anywhere near your Hillsborough North clubs.

                        Brandon Merger

Players Club has nothing left on a competitive level. Their Saturday rec program is starting to resemble a mini-carnival, designed to attract family members and siblings to promote spending money on concessions. Ingenious in a way because just like the Florida Lottery, those who can least afford to spend money in this manner will spend money in this manner. Short-lived however. The Saturday events and fields look like a third world shanty town.

Fishhawk's rec program looks like an advertisement for where to enroll overweight and underachieving children. A competitive program at this club will not happen any time soon. Fishhawk is a non-player.

VSC is sucking air as it loses more and more competitive teams to the economy and other clubs. Meanwhile, the select staff ramps up with recognizable names who receive decent stipends. The web listing of select teams at VSC, were it updated, would be depressing. VSC is fading away but searching for some life-line. Even the Dawgs of War have lost bragging rights for this club.

So that leaves BASYL, replete with all of it's bureaucratic problems but still in the driver's seat. BAYSL can sit back and watch as the small Brandon area clubs canabalize each other. Once nobody can survive individually they take control of the Fishhawk complex, dole out salaries to a select few (some income is better than no income, motivation to buy-in), and call the new association Brandon Area Suckers United Club Soccer, BA-SUCS. VSC and Players Club become week night practice sites and support weekend recreation events. The original BAYSL and Fishhawk complexes will be reserved for select competitions with limited allowances for the rec'ies and their families.

Valrico has already signed the paperwork to take over Fish Hawk. This will be announced next week. This is going to be a huge blow to BAYSL.
