The message is lost in the arson, violence and looting. I watched protestors on live tv launch items at the police who were trying to clear a way for the fire dept to put out the fire at historic St. john's Church. That is a hate crime setting fire to a church and the preschool at the church.
These radicals are not heros.

It’s a real problem as no inner city minorities are even given a chance. Only pay to play rich white girls that can afford it...seems pretty unfair to me to exclude so much potential talent. The rest of the world does not do that! Why here?? Because it’s a system with fancy leagues like ECNL run by rich white males built to line their pockets while keep minorities out...have you ever seen PDA, WCFC teams??? They barely have any minorities on them....Shame. Where is the USWNT standing up for young girls of different backgrounds???
As the cost is getting higher and higher, fewer and fewer minorities can afford this sport. The pay-to-play scheme is created to ensure the gap between social-economic classes is the same or widen.

Like this white boy who got beaten up because he vandalized a black guy's car (the person who was beating him up). How do you know he's not one of the MAGA clowns?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostCall people names all you want but that’s the truth youth soccer is a rich white suburban sport, run by white males. There aren’t even enough women’s coaches in the game, it’s appalling. But the liberals whose kids pay to play turn their heads the other way. If you want to make a difference step up and demand and lead a change. That’s courage....
Now let's talk about reality:
Let's say a solid program in NJ costs $3K a year (this is probably way low). If you have two players who happen to be reasonably good at soccer, it will be $6K a year. That doesn't include travel and commute time, supplemental program, winter or summer. Most of the people probably live about 30-1 hour away from "better" clubs they have access to. So it's easily 2-hour a day for just going to practices. If you are in a 9-5 job and the practice is at 6:30. When do you have to leave? Don't forget that you have to come home, pick up the player, and then leave for practices. How many people can actually leave at 5 pm while being in a job to afford such costs? Please tell me if there is such a job.
Now higher level teams play further away and that adds travel cost. A "lower" level league like ECRL requires you to travel at least twice a season, according to 2019 schedule, to a place 3-4 hours away from a match. It means you probably have to get a hotel if you'd like your players to be in his/her best condition at the game.
In addition, the higher level a player plays, the more likely he/she will have to skip some classes at the school. So we're now talking about hiring tutors or looking for some programs to help the player so he/she isn't falling behind.
Finally, again, if you happen to have two players like this in a family, they might happen to have different practice time and date, different game time, date, and location. It means one of the parents/guardians will have to stay home or work part-time or some flexible hours.
And BTW, I haven't included training equipment, gears like high-quality cleats or indoor shoes, which you have to purchase almost every year.
Please tell me, how many families in NJ can afford such a lifestyle?

Several thousand?
