    State Cup New Round 1

Looking at the FYSA website, it is unclear if State Cup New Round 1 will be group play or knock out. Anyone know for sure?

Group play, with the top 1 or 2 teams from group proceeding to round 2

      State Cup draw March 7th

      First round March 14th

It took FYSA an entire week after the draw to release the locations and schedule for Region Cup. Are they going to let the State Cup teams know their schedule one day before their game? This is ridiculous!

First round games will be against teams in your region, so travel should be minimized, but I agree, they should let us know earlier.

I just don't understand why it takes so long to know the draw. They already know the accepted teams. All they need to do is enter the teams in an excel spreadsheet and do a random draw.

Only U13 is random. The other age groups need to wait for leagues results from FSPL, R3PL, etc.

My sons team was put into the #1 seeded teams 3 yrs in a row, won the group and had to play them again in the next round. The years before seeding, they played the same south florida team 4yrs in a row. The Florida lottery is random, assigning one team from each region is not random. Has FYSA allowed anyone to actually look at the Excel Program and its formulas before the "random draw"?

Not this year. Fysa is using RPL, league affiliate standings and last year four president cup trans to seed. Everyone else is random draw.

                      From the FYSA website:
*** - Round 1 advancers depend on the number of Seeded Teams, League Affiliate Champions, and the number of Round 1 teams from each Region. Team Progression Numbers will be posted in January 2015.

What does "team progression numbers mean" and what will they be posting in January?
Does that mean they will be explaining the round 1 format this week and how many spots are available for round 2 from each region?

The seeding comes from FYSA affiliated leagues, last years U17 boys final teams played in FPL . It's all about how much $ you contribute to play in a sub-par league. For example this years U18 Boca boys will get a high seed after being beaten badly in every league, just because they participated in every possible FYSA league. They are last in FPL but will be seeded higher than any other FPL team.
FSPL is a total joke. FYSA FAIL !!!!

Win state and you have nothing to worry or complain about.

The FPL teams did win state!!! Now they get less seeding points than any participant in FYSA leagues. Which means these leagues are a joke because the best teams aren't in them.
