go to Orlando if you are serious about your kids soccer.
Stay away from the politics of Weston or the disorganization of Kendall.

Just start at Plantation and they will funnel you over to Kendall if you are good enough with no release fee.

Plenty of politics at Kendall, you just have to be the kid of one of the directors....as stated before our facilities at Kendall suck. It is not disorganization, it is just that it is run as a personal fiefdom of a certain clique (directors and team managers), and so where your kid ends up is not solely on talent. That is an issue across the board in every non MLS academy club as the directors are there only to promote their kids, and everything else is not as important and thus Kendall and other academies suffer because of this type of organizational structure. I will say Kendall is maintaining a higher level Coaching staff, than Weston for now. Look at both staffs. Kendall has a recently former FIFA coach from Brazil with impeccable credentials and other former players, as well as highly licensed coaches. I would agree to go to Orlando City if you have choice in the Move and your child is already in the Academy system.

either club would be good for your son if he is good enough. don't trust this site, they attack both academies and don't know the facts. they say weston staff is not as good as kendall's and they have five coaches in the staff; one is the coach of the only professional team in the city, with 25 year of experience and teaches licenses for ussf, another has the highest license in the country; technical director license. their fitness coach is also the fitness coach for the u16 national team, and teaches the fitness stuff for the a and b license for ussf. the other two are finishing their a license this week. both academies are good for any kid good enough to make it, weston in much more successful when it comes to player promotion to college, professional and youth national teams. good luck.

There are plenty of good people in the soccer community here. Just ignore the ones who talk a lot and you'll be fine. Everybody loves an audience.

Five members of the Board of Directors of the club do not have any children in the program. The other six board members that do have children in the club have not had their children automatically placed in the DA teams or even in the first team in their age group. The members of the Board aren't telling the program directors and DA coaches what kids to pick to those teams. They may not like it when their son doesn't make the DA team, but that won't change the opinion of the people who do make the selection decisions. Some coaches have favorite players and make some questionable choices, but that happens even in the pros.

The managers for the Development Academy team not only do not have children on the Academy teams they manage, they don't have children in the club - period.

So the question then becomes if you are better off just playing for your High School team or playing Academy soccer at a club directed by a High School Soccer Coach?

Sorry, but I don't see your point, aside from the fact that the person that started this whole thread seems to have already made the decision that they want to be in the Academy program.
