You're talking about girls ODP Nat'l Camp last weekend? If so it was outstanding. '99's - '01's. 4 days of hard core training. All the regions were mixed into scramble teams so play wasn't region vs region. Couldn't have asked for a better camp.

regional b teams for all but 01

The A rosters go to Boca Raton in Thanksgiving for the interregionals. Still an honor, but national camp is perhaps purposefully misleading. Unlike USSF "national camp" and id2 kids have to pay to play. They dont want kids bagging out.

Many players the same. Interegional team picked by one coach, national camp selected by multiple coaches.

National camp is free of charge for players. Many USSF coaches present.

What does "bagging out" mean? You sound so bitter, did ODP harm your kid somehow?

I'm sure it's just another parent of a kid that didn't make the cut. When players get invited to id2, ussf national or ODP national camp they do not pay. Inter-regionals and overseas regional events you do pay.

Inter Regional's already happened in November -teams were chosen to either go to Costa Rica or the National training. 99's and 2000's were chosen from inter-regionals to go Costa Rica. The National training pulled from who didn't make it to Costa Rica and the region pools for more training. Id2 and this venue are usually same pool of girls. Yes ODP charges minimal costs but training and quality of play and quality of play is just as good.

My kid has been to both Id2 and ODP National Camp. Id2 is a great experience, great venue, best of the best talent, and lot's of free gear, but training was just okay. ODP National Camp was very high level talent, maybe not the "A" list, but the training was more intense. My kid was spent after 4 days at Nat'l Camp. Id2 was a walk in the park. Now maybe Id2 was geared more toward identification than training and that's why they didn't work as hard, but as far as a learning environment Nat'l Camp was definitely better.
