LL freaked out when Surf surfaced. She thought she could sweep up after GPS demise. Add to that Seacoast appearing, she thought she could sweep up when FCUSA fell apart. Now she’s created a mess and will suffer because of it.

Couple of gripes I am hearing from departing teams
-DPL was requiring the clubs to pay for Florida tourney regardless if they went or not. That didn’t sit well with the clubs. Ironic, when this past spring they had no problem not giving full refunds to parents for lost seasons.
- Why not go back to NEP? Supposedly they were not happy with the relegation process. Hard for teams to get into higher levels unless you were a founding father club or win you division
- as for the new league they intend on expanding in the near future
If you are looking to play in college run run run

Instead of NEP NPL this is an opportunity to try and create a higher level NPL for this area much like the old Northeast NPL where the Stars and Scorpions played.
This is a good situation for clubs to have high level league play where the founding members all enter their top teams into it... besides the club that also has a GAL license. If the clubs are not happy with GAL or if it crumbles again they can land here.

This is a precursor move to the GA failing, or becoming completely irrelevant, in the next 6-18 months.

Bottom Line: There are TOO MANY LEAGUES. For pay for play youth club soccer in Mass., there needs to be no more than 2 leagues. Throw everyone in with tiers, and adjust accordingly as time goes on, to ensure the appropriate levels of development and competition for ALL players.Right now, its a clownshow.

Club soccer is corrupt and this new league is another example of some feeling they need a bigger slice of the action.
