ECNL adds 6 top GAL clubs for 2021-22 season

ECNL lost all credibility in NJ when it awarded PDA South entrance. PDA North Blue should be the only member from PDA. Anyone who tries to argue that PDA White or PDA South deserve ECNL over some other NJ clubs isn't being honest. The only thing this proves is that PDA has to much of a say on what clubs get in and what clubs don't get in.

I heard, from PDA South parent, that PDA North didn't want PDA South to accept. So just how much sway does PDA actually have?

This practice of taking clubs that don't deserve the badge is continuing nationally as the ECNL tries to gobble up GAL clubs with the only reasoning being it hurts the GAL. This will continue to water down the product nationally. The ECNL has become completely top heavy in the Northeast because it has allowed clubs like PDA to control the narrative of who gets in and who doesn't. The fact that PDA and the ECNL allowed PDA South and PDA North White access proves the ECNL doesn't care about the quality of play as much as they do about protecting their founding clubs.

Deserving...water down....What a joke. Considering ECNL won't remove bottom dwelling clubs that are shells of their former selves shows being deserving is not something they value. Patch people only worry about if little Suzy will be able to turn that patch into a scholarship.

That’s true, post DA folding the clubs should have just joined ECNL or USYS. Period end of story. Why try to create a league that is just not needed and completely inaccurate in its position as “the top platform for girls”.

Everyone has an opinion that is all based on speculation of what is the motive of looking ahead of where ECNL is headed in the future. You have the “haves and have nots” who are trying to rationalize how their daughters club is going to get admitted to ECNL. Sorry, but that is all speculation. One thing is for certain, ECNL will always serve the interests of it’s founding clubs as well as the loyalty of those clubs that did not jump on the GDA bandwagon. Here in NJ both PDA and Matchfit will be protected. PDA is an important National presence for ECNL as one of their top clubs so they were awarded with 2 teams at every age group as well as additional teams for their satellite clubs. You can have page after page of gripes about Matchfit but ECNL will remain loyal to them over the likes of the usual suspects of NJ clubs that apply every year. The only GA club worthy of the competition right now to play ECNL is NEFC. Thankfully, I am done this Spring. If I had a daughter entering the important high school years I would be very weary of making a lateral move from GA to RL. The saying be careful what you wish for comes to mind. Sometimes no move is the best move especially after this past Covid year in which nothing was normal. People need to think this through before jumping.

The only fact that’s certain is that every PDA Blue game is a total waste of time. ECNL has no coaching or practice standards. Instead of having best teams play together in a geographical area, they play against some of the weakest teams. Total self destruction of the product.

The problem is, who would get let in to be competitive? Cedar STars? STA? These teams get destroyed by ECNL teams any time they play, so thats no step up. Maybe PDA should have played the NE conference instead of trying to give themselves easier wins agaisnt bucks and delco.

NE conference is much more competitive than NA. But PDA Blue basically guarantees that they win the NA division in every age group by playing there.

USYS is a failed platform. so for business reasons the GA merged with USYS but will keep the board and decision making to the GA clubs and USYS will not have a say on how they do things.

What your advocating for goes against everything that ECNL developed. ECNL has no interest of having a club like STA to come in and take players from Matchfit or PDA White. What your doing is further diluting the rosters of 3 clubs teams. ECNL want the best STA players join PDA or Matchfit. That brings stronger rosters and makes the team more competitive. And that’s why ladies and gentlemen Matchfit are standing on solid ground with their feet firmly in their boots.

MF is already a crap club. College coaches know not to pick up kids from MF because of sub standard coaching and lack of performance.

PF used to be decent but they are crap as well.
