This is just the first round of announcements. This was easy as these clubs were already ECRL. The next announcements will come later in the spring. Expect most of the good players in GAL clubs to leave for the nearest ECNL club (if it's driving distance).

ECNL is by far and beyond miles ahead in every way shape and form as compared to GAL. EDP teams blowout GAL teams if that tells you anything. Just check out Real, Philly Coppa etc both with daddy coaches no less.
Please re-read my previous post about the environment they created and they support. They are milking the system and keeping the game stuck in the doldrums.
With a literal monopoly on “the showcase circuit” which is the key payoff for playing soccer they don’t need to be challenged. Players come to them and replace home grown players every season.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostLet’s just say that if you join an ECNL team there are a few constraints to consider:
- ECNL practices 2x a week
- ECNL does not have coaching certification requirements
- ECNL allows 26 players on a roster (+ unlimited movement between teams)
If you care about development in these circumstances:
- make sure you get real training outside of the club
- make sure your kid can deal with immense competition between players
- make sure you never ever cross paths with any of the coaching staff
If you are not aware of these or can’t handle these - get your kid out. It’s not a place where you get developed, or supported or nurtured. A dog eat dog kind of world.
I think ECNL/GA does require coaching certification requirements.
USYS club don’t. That is why they hire young college kids or dad coaches.
(Philly Copa/Real).
