These are only showcase games but who do you think would win, the U14 National team or a 2000 ODP regional team? And explain your reasoning.

The U14 GNT is actually a U15 team and supposedly the best in the nation. The 2000 Region teams, even though 2 years older, are really not the best in the region, just the best of those left participating. Most of the top players not making the Nat'l Team do not continue in ODP. So I would expect the U14 GNT should be more talented, and better trained as a team. The Region teams do not play or train together as a team before Interregionals.

It will be closer than you think. The U15 girls are 8th and 9th graders. The U17 girls are sophomores and juniors. The 2000 ODP Region teams who play at Boca and in International events will give them an excellent match. Like you said, the only thing against the ODP region teams is they do not practice together as a team. It looks like they will be practicing down in Boca for a couple days before the games.

The best game will be put forward by the 2000 team that has maintained the most top players. Each advancing year kids drop off for various reasons including that they are committed. Many of the 2000 sophomores are not committed yet though most have been to visits and are starting to understand where they will be.

800 players are attending from around the country. Airline tickets are expensive around Thanksgiving, and that is a lot of players for the ODP staff to round up at the airport!
