Pretty much the same with my kid's school - the ones who applied and wanted in mostly got in.

UF Reject dad is back. Next he'll talk about how all the alumni are pulling their donations over it

There are many UF and FSU alumni who are unhappy. Their universities are not what they once were and not serving as many of Florida's high school students. Times have changed. Florida is the third most populated state and UF and FSU have not grown in freshman enrollment numbers.

There are 200 public high schools and that's not counting the many private schools. It does appear more of the private high school kids are getting admitted and they could offer more programs like SAT prep classes, smaller numbers for counselors to help, and many have to take a placement test before they can get admitted to the private school. Also smaller private schools make it less competitive to letter in four varsity sports or be the leader of the church school choir.

Surprised someone of your intellect didn't use the word week instead of weak...Congrats, you are improving! Imagine, in a month or so you can get your GED and then pontificate on colleges in Florida with some credibility!

How many high schools are there?
How many high school seniors did UF admit?
              How many were from out-of-state?
Ultimately, UF only has seats and housing for 6,500 freshman.

UF admits some into its PACE online program for freshman. Students must declare a major from a limited list such as Ag. The students cannot live on campus and must do a full year of online credits.

Thanks to your republican legislators. Eliminate the Board of Regents (professional college educators and retired university presidents) and replace them with political stooges. Attorney Wendy Link (long time republican supporter in Palm Beach County); Richard Cocoran (no experience in education but he is related to the Corcoran who was in the State Senate); Wayne Huzeinga Jr., Richard Kitson (Rich Developer). All of these people are rich, send their kids to private schools, and then to even more expensive private colleges. The best was to ensure a ****ty education system is to put it in the hands of a bunch of people who don't need public education.

Only about 1/5 or 20% of the 52,179 top level 2019 Bright Futures recipients will attend UF/FSU, so 4/5 or 80% are attending other colleges.
UCF and USF are enrolling more of the FL Bright Futures recipients and thriving in every way including future alumni.

But it's all about their estimated acceptance rate. If they typically give a HS that many acceptances they probably have a very good idea how many will accept. They also now in-state vs out of state acceptance rates. Most schools, especially top schools, have this down to an art form. Sometimes they'll be a little off but not by much.

All this humor coming form a little toad who's kid didn't get into UF. It takes more than a poor attempt at a quip to get under my skin. Maybe you should spend more time consoling the UPS guys offspring you call your kid after rejection email was opened.

The days of legacy kids are over unless you are sports alumni who kids have talent. Not hard to find money there. Research and patents drive the quest for smarter kids, not a couple hundred bucks a year from glory day dads.

And there it is... the ultimate crash into partisan finger pointing. No doubt you are the same twit who had their posts moved to Florida Politics. The system in place seems to work just find for most.

The accept WAY more than what is expected to actually enroll.
