sure, it's crazy -- but if pain/disgust from MV takeover is bad enough, some OC kids will make that trek east to Clearwater.

All these clubs have their secret five year plan to merge one by one. Most of the time it is on paper only and no real partnership but for the weaker to send players to the dominant. Then the dominant club gets the players fees.

I can understand why you would be disillusioned if your experience is based on the Clearwater Chargers or OC.... both clubs leave a lot to be desired.

The affiliation was a knee jerk to TBU and Rowdies affiliations. Now that Rowdies are not going MLS this affiliation will be meaningless. How many TBU kids are going into the Rowdies training camp next year...zero. Don’t worry they will have something new to sell in a few year to keep parents paying for hopes and dreams

OK, sort of. TBU's CEO, Charlie Slagle actually introduced the head of MLS, Dan Garber to start the MLS Super Draft which was held concurrently with the United Soccer Coaches (USC) convention in Philly recently. Slagle did that as part of his responsibilities at Director of USC.

There is no doubt that with Slagle's connections, TBU will eventually be awarded Full DA. Especially with the mess at both ends of I-4: OC DA at MV and Clearwater Chargers DA.
