      Jefferson Cup

A strong showing for Florida at Jefferson Cup:

      http://events.gotsport.com/events/re...er=Boys&Age=19

      Championship Bracket
WFF wins, going 3-0 and earning 27 points
FCF takes second, going 2-0-1 and earning 23 points

Quite a strong showing for our Florida teams taking 1 & 2.

Actually, there was a solid turnout, not as good as last year though.

A few D1 filling late slots and scouting any Juniors. The rest DII and DIII. We only have a few players left looking for commits, and they both had interest from coaches and had in-depth discussions. So, it was a good weekend.

How was your weekend at home?

It was a great holiday weekend, thx for asking. We had off as No DA games this weekend and didn’t have to trek across country on a holiday weekend to have Little Johnny who couldn’t make our da team get looked at by some powerhouse D3 school out of BFE West Virginia.

That's fantastic, so glad to hear.

And when you little Messi finishes his 2.5 years in MLS making maybe $70k a year, then what?

Little Johnny never wanted to play on a DA, because it was not geographically close and the DA team, honestly, wasn't anything special.

He knows that soccer is not his end game, just a sport he enjoys. I did not project my dreams onto him, he pursues his own life. I don't have to push him to excel either athletically or academically, he takes dual enrollment and has gotten pretty much straight A's through college and got a 1500 on his SAT.

He got into the school of his choice through his intellect, he doesn't need soccer. He's getting scholarship money that will carry him through 4 years as long as he maintains his grades (which he will). Nobody can cut him and take those scholarships away.

Hopefully, he can give your little Messi a job when his soccer "career" is over. Somebody's gotta wash the car.

But you go ahead and thrust your chest out proudly that your son is in the almighty DA system. You're DA Dad.

Sounds like this post hit “Wall street dad” a bit hard. Seems a tad butt hurt ever since Johnny wasn’t asked to tryout for da.

Sounds like DA Dad has some cognitive dissonance about the DA system when he spends his time on, what he calls, a rec soccer thread constantly pointing out that DA is 20x better than any club (yet, the few times DA plays club they can't dominate them).

Are you trying to convince us, or yourself?
