To what extent is that? They STILL charge about as much as any other club in town and their coaches are some of the highest paid. How is THAT $$ going back into or helping the community?

The amount of trolling, misinformation and pure steaming BS on this thread is genuinely staggering, even for talking-soccer standards!!

This should have been a one reply thread, as the truth of the matter is this: the bidding isn't even open yet!

Instead, there are 19 pages of nonsense. I genuinely wonder - and then feel really, really sad about - what kind of person needs to feed their ego and have part of their identity based on being a youth soccer "in-the-know" on an insidious forum that is supposedly based on CHILDREN PLAYING A GAME.

The saddest part is that these people (after you discard teenagers trolling) are - at best - just repeating sideline gossip that 99% of the time is completely groundless. And if there are any employees of these clubs on this forum propagating this stuff... good Lord! Go and get a real job!

Follow along now: GPS is a FOR PROFIT BUSINESS. They would only do this to make MONEY that is sent to line the pockets of their CORPORATE pockets up north. It does not stay in the community to the extent that people think.

A "not for profit" business simply means there are no owners who receive a distribution of earnings. However, they can pay personnel as much as they want via salary and other incentives. A not for profit paying someone a salary of $150,000 is no different than a "for profit" business paying someone a $100,000 salary and distributing $50,000 in earnings. If it is a "C" corp. there is double taxation and the "for profit" owner is actually making less than the "not for profit" employee.

There are only a few clubs that could bid on Trotters and they have had five years to plan strategy. Do you really believe there has been no communication between the clubs and the city before the formal bidding process begins? The city could have indicated that a "floor" (i.e. minimum opening bid) will be required that is too rich for some of the bidders. Hence, the statement that a particular club "lost" the bid.

ACYS has screwed over just as many parents, players and coaches as any other club in town. They are ALL the same.
