Looking at making a pro soccer league, the boys here have to compete against players from the countless nations that see Men's soccer as their premier sport. The combine is loaded with them. Girl's soccer is the US and a few other countries. The top US college woman soccer player had to move here because she had no place to play in Brazil!?

Looking at college soccer, the men's teams do far better in the NCAA's than the women. Not a single women's team from New England even made the NCAA's this season. Pathetic! Two local boys, Leon Brown and Scott Caldwell, scored goals to help their teams win the Championship in recent years. SM did win it for the girls.

You missed the point. This area has few special players with either gender. Having 1 or 0 players on the National Team says it all. This is not where you go to find such athletes. Having girls invited to National underage camps is like being invited to the MLS combine. Nice thought, but when you turn on the TV, are any of them on the field. No! At least many of our kids are smart, so sports need not define them.

Look the goal is to get into a good college, period. For the boys, get into the Rev's (since it is free), work hard and get into a better college than you would normally do. The money you save on club fees can pay for the first year of college (on the girls side the scholarship money just covers the club and travel costs for ECNL)

Huh. No.

The MLS first round draft only had 23 picks. So he went in early to mid second round. Nine picks into second round or 32.

32 is extremely late for a Generation Adidas player.

Shone and Reid were also Generation Adidas players last year and got #40 and #41 pick

not a big deal. What's important is they got drafted. The point though was that people on TS were making him out to be unworthy of being in the draft to begin with.

No people were saying he was unworthy of being Generation Adidas. Second round players aren't difference maker. Doubt he will be

PS ... Shome and Reid played a grand total of 1 MLS. Shome played in last game of the season
