Now that this is done...can we expect any ownership situation news?

"Bloom has been a sports bettor and property investor, nicknamed The Lizard."

I could think of no other creature than a lizard to own this fledgling franchise.

F*** the ownership. How about an update for the fans. I’ve been a season ticket holder for a number of years. I’ve no idea where the team is going to be playing next year. I’ve called and emailed people at the office and not a single response, and all LB can do is to put a tweet up after weeks of speculation apologizing for the radio silence. If this is how the club is going to operate under new ownership, I want a refund!

Seems like nothing will be announced before they get the ownership situation squared away.

As well it should. Sending mixed messages is the worst thing any organization can do.

Any updates on whats happening with ownership of the Breakers? Can/Will the NWSL take over management for the upcoming season?

This is what was said about the situation at the draft last week. I haven't seen anything else in the news since then.

Speaking during Thursday’s draft, NWSL managing director of operations said that it is business as usual in Boston while the league looks to secure new investments to keep the team afloat.

“Currently it’s business as usual with the Boston Breakers. We are going to work with them and their ownership to make sure that we’re a 10-team league and viable moving forward in a professional and sophisticated way in 2018.”

Pressed on the issue, Duffy said that Boston Elite Soccer LLC has continued as the main ownership group for the club, but it is no secret that new ownership is being sought for 2018. According to several sources at the annual United Soccer Coaches Convention, the uncertainty around the situation has put the clamps on personnel moves and the offseason in general.

“We still don’t know,” Breakers coach Matt Beard said. “We’re still waiting. It would be nice for it to be resolved, but we’re still sitting tight here and waiting. It has impacted our offseason massively. But it is what it is, we’ve just got to get on with it.”

In the meantime the most venerable brand in American professional women’s club soccer remains in limbo. The regular season begins in 65 days.

worst case if ownership can't find a buyer will there be a 2018 season for the breakers? Not sure of the clubs money situation but doesn't seem like they could afford to go another season.

If you look at the articles from earlier, Breakers' plan is to rely on the youth system. That's where the money is, and they have a financially strong partner.

Hope Solo is tweeting with the hashtag #savethebreakers a short while ago, along with hundreds of others, so must be some truth to this.

Evident that the coaching staff is in adequate, Matt Beard might be a good coach but he is not the man to be coaching this team. There is so much talent and it is wasted, they are a much better team than the records show so maybe it is time for a change. Can the NWSL demand that the coaching staff be replaced? You would think with a few National team players the WNT would also have an investment in the success of the Breakers
