Might be the worst event my kid has played in!

Have some class. Many kids enjoy playing and it's a decent preseason tournament.
So many parents act as their kid is so amazing that they need to be flown all over the country in order to find adequate competition. Bunch of delusional snobs that actually pay for their bragging rights.

It's a perfectly fine little warm-up tournament to get some good scrimmage-like games in. Parking is easy, and the fields are fine. Only sucks if you are one Field 1 or 2 and have to walk a mile to the concessions.

40-50 teams spread over multiple age groups, spells poor competition and lop sides games. Not really what anyone wants before the real games start.

I don't have anything to do with this tournament, but I can't understand why you feel the need to disparage it?

What's wrong with a pre-season tournament as a warm up? If the games aren't competitive, as you suggest, it can still be worthwhile.

I would prefer that my kid plays in August rather than on a frozen field in March.

Ok buddy, feel free to send us a utube link to how great your kid is and why they are so above this tournament.

Are you seriously complaining that a mid August tournament doesn't have "great" competition? You've got the NEFC pre-season tourney, the FC Stars and the GPS tourney all coming up in the next 3 weeks where DA and NPL teams are playing. If your team was a serious team, it would be playing in one of those tournaments in a top bracket. The Cranberry Cup should be treated like what it is: a pre-season opportunity to work the summer conwebs off before plYing in more serious tourneys and league play. If you're a parent and complaining about this tourney, you have no clue and your kid isn't on a truly competitive top ranked team.

Yeah, but double digit scores, in multiple games? That's good for who?

Good for the kids that scored goals! Nothing wrong with that...good confidence builder. If your on the losing end, you know you have some work to do.

Complain to your coach who put you in it, instead of the tournament which just provided the opportunity. Our team won their championship easily too, and it still was a worth while time having our new team come together and help bond, learn to play together and for the coach to figure out his line-ups and formations. There is value in playing pre-season games/scrimmages even if lopsided.
