What" type of parent" is the beloved district select program looking for exactly? Parents of kids that are not athletic and uncoordinated and haven't learned anything in the sport from age 3? Then yes, I am not that "type of parent"

District Select soccer is like some sort of secret association of generations of unathletic nerd dads and their offspring who have private tryouts in the Spring, give each other medals at the end of the season for not having accomplished anything and continue the tradition of passing on the gene of mediocrity.

You're concerned that my son is wasting my time. What a humanitarian.

We are not talking about participation medals. There was a tryout and some kids were selected just like an employer interviews people and hires someone. The coach and manager are ok with the team because they understand the resources they have. You know who isn't happy so self-proclaimed superstar. He is that disgruntled player(employee) that believes he is better than everyone.

By the way, no one looking to take their place. You don't seem to understand that this wasn't a first come first serve. There was a tryout. And the best kids that were available signed up. It doesn't mean they are good. It just means that they were the best kids that had the summer free.

I hope that you skip this weekend. Either way, I am glad you won't come back next year.

The tryouts were posted on MYSA web site and facebook page. They had one on a Saturday and another on a Sunday. They were far from secret.

99.9% of the kids are mediocre. Is your son in the .1%? If so what club does he play for, I would like to watch him? He definitely is not on D4. There are no .1% on D4.

My daughter really enjoys the program this year and is looking forward to the tournament.
Let's be positive and encourage these kids, not pull them down. It says plenty about a parent who has to point out negative flaws and judge.

You're talking about kids years away from high school. Anyone around the DSP knows one thing for certain, these are kids who LOVE to play the game.

So yeah, dickweed sums it up.

Clearly your time has been wasted. Why not move on to ODP and get disappointed there?

I have seen a lot of offense comments. What could raise to the level you edit and yet not ban?

Wow, what a pompous ass you are.
Do you truly measure your worth in such useless term?
And even worse, you appear to judge others by those terms as well.
Let us know how it works out for you when you're being judged by everyone for having to take viagra.

Please note the name....District Select...not District Elite and not District Premier. They select the best players from tryouts. Could be club players, could be town players. For club players it gives a stress free environment to stay in shape and work on skills. For the town player it expands their training. For everyone it is the best $150 you could spend this summer

I was surprised to hear that the coach of one of the u13 teams is a club coach. The rule is only five players from each club on DS team. He lied and cheated and put most of his club team on the Ds team. He should of been kicked out of Ds but they just slapped him on the wrist and I heard he can only play five of those kids in a game. I guess he has to beat up teams in DS since he can't do anything against the best club teams in the state.

Not involved in DS, but know about the program.
If they are going to start requiring a D license to coach in DS (could be an E, I may be wrong)... who else is going to potentially have a D license? Random parent volunteer?
