Understood. He is one of these ISL kids like Zeiko Lewis who waltz in from OS, play a little ISL, then collect Gatorade MA POY and NSCAA MA All American awards. I didn't use to put these names on unless they had a MA home town listed, but my helper kept sticking them on. Berkshire seems to be making a habit of this lately. Great players BTW.

MNT coach has decided that his talented son should play in college. How about that. Best we got.

What Local D1 Schools Recruit the Most MA Boys?

I thought I'd look this up for the past 5 seasons. The answer may surprise you.

        #1 UMass 15 players

#2 UML 12 players (Only counting the 2 D1 years)

#3 BC 11 players (This will surprise some)

#4 NU 9 players (High since BA moved in)

        #6 PC 6 Players

        Tie: BU/Harv/HC/UNH/Bryant All with 5 or 1/yr

        Others: UVM/CCSU with 3

        Another 6-8 with 1-2.

        UConn = 0

Thank you for the interesting compilation of data. Actually, UConn just picked up a MA transfer from Eastern Connecticut State (he was initially recruited to UConn but had to wait a year for academic reasons).

Yeah, I've been watching him. Although a WMass kid, I believe he played for Oakwood. I see he is now on the 2014 UConn roster after a year at E Ct St.

Reality check - a few diamonds in the rough. D1 coaches look at our state as a joke. Sad but true.

Then why the increase in d1 recruits in the last 2 years? It was something like 10-15 before that, but now 30 or so in 2013 and 2014. Are the coaches just taking them because they play DA, in essence shortcutting their recruiting?

The San Diego State player is a 2013 ?

Many 2014 D1 recruits could not make some of the top D3 squads and I am not saying this maliciously. You have to wonder about some of the selections. I will not single any player out but if you have been privy to this crop then you might agree. We have quantity but lack some quality.

I don't see the Seton Hall players name on the roster?
The San Diego State player is a 2013 ?
I see that. Usually 1 or 2 don't make the roster. I will remove him later. The other kid is a transfer from Northeastern. Must have cut that word off. Thanks.

He is a 2013. Notice there are five more D1 transfers on the list. This is for commits including transfers. When I discuss playing time and stats, I revert them back to their class. OP

I will not single any player out but if you have been privy to this crop then you might agree. We have quantity but lack some quality.
In that case, maybe we will see less than a doubling of the number that garner playing time in d1. Seems that college coaches probably are recruiting more narrowly, d1 especially, by focusing more on DA games and players. Do they miss some players because there are those just as good or better who don't play DA? Yeah. But do they miss impact players? Maybe not, so you could argue the trade off for efficiency in recruiting is worth it.
