I am sure that there are others on non DAP teams that can fill this list.
What about the other man-child from the NE Revs who used to play with NEFC? Actually, I don't see him on the NE REVS roster anymore.

He went to a semi- pro team in California.

34 plus players. What is the point of that?

34 is a lot, but most teams have 25-30 rostered and many will not see the field at all. No JV anymore

UML was a very good D2 team. Then they moved last year to low D1 and got creamed. So now they are preparing to jettison many of the good D2 players that can't handle D1 and replace them with hopefully D1 caliber players. Should make for a rocky preseason. Smart D2 teams will be watching and collecting some of the outgoing players.

What is the benefit to the school for going Division 1 from divsion 2?

I would suspect it has something to do with the AD and $$$. It certainly has nothing to do with soccer, and more to do with programs like basketball. The B-ball teams got creamed too, I believe.

Is there a particular smell to a D2 player? You talk as though there is some characteristic readily observed in a D2 player. Can you describe what that would look like? How would you know one if you saw one?

A good D2 player/team finishes their D2 year 15-6-1, makes the conference finals, losing to the eventual D2 national champion team, scoring 45 goals over the course.

Essentially the same bunch tries their hand at low level D1, going 3-14-1 against D1 opponents with a median D1 RPI of 150 with 20 goals scored versus 41 against. Opponents shot % is 16 versus 9 for them.

And so in D1 especially, the coach knows he has to upgrade. So a ton of new recruits/transfer arrive. He can tell you what he is looking for, which is likely a winning record.

Interesting that players are not from inside 495 while U Mass Lowell had emass players.
