You earn time at the top. If you can’t handle that as player or parent - go play in the NPL. It’s not for everyone.

This is the exact reason why select gave out offers 2 weeks ago in mid April. Next year I truly wonder if select will give out offers in the fall?????

        LISC- hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahha what a joke

We are in SC right now. PDA, FC Dallas, Real Colorado, Eclipse Select, NC Courage, Louden, etc.
The amount of talented 2008 & 2007 players is really amazing.

Not impressed. Impact NPL has Select North and Select South.

Select is irrelevant. Anyone with talent and college ambition leaves that club by high school.

This may work in theory, but it’s not what happens in practice. There are kids who do everything one would expect to “earn” more playing time “at the top” and it never comes.

The college coaches must be talking furious notes trying to keep track of all that talent!

At U13 & U14, no. But when those kids on those same teams are U15- U17, yes.

So here is a questions for all you ECNL cheerleaders, if you have a kid that wishes to play 2-3 sports in high school competitively how can you play ECNL? Does choosing a different league mean the kid cant play ECNL or chooses to have the flexibility to play other sports?

But the talent bragging was specially about the U13-14 wasn't it?
I mean have fun and all that, but coming on here to (not-so) humble brag seems kinda petty.

Pretty sure the answer is that you don't. Fall you play HS soccer. Winter and spring you play ECNL club soccer

It's very challenging but can be done. That said there are several parts to the equation:

                                - when does the ECNL team practice? (Hs kids usually take night slots so less of an issue)
                                - how many weekend team commitments are there for the HS team?
                                - how understanding/accommodating are either of the coaches? (usually neither will be unless you're a real stud for that team(s)
                                - how good is your kid at juggling and will they be willing to sacrifice some friend-time for school/sports?

Baksetball or other winter sports work well with soccer since winter is semi-quiet for club teams. Spring is much harder. Burnout and overuse are real risks.
