It's always the bigger clubs, the little ones tend to let you go without penalty. Why -- because once you've made the "big club" mistake and your kid gets jerked around with false promises of a college scholarship and playing on the top team (after you've already dropped $5k), you'll be looking again and they do not want any hard feelings.

As per fysa new rule selected players at Tryouts can not register or rostered prior June 10
Why Weston is calling all players that went to Tryouts telling them they made the top team and they have to pay in 48 hours. are they allowed to do that ?

Wow. " vested commitment" is the key word. This thread is all about how parents can sign on with clubs, taking a spot from another player, and knowingly not be committed to anything but selfish ambition. Screw everybody , the club, the other players..., who cares as long as you get yours. But how dare the club do anything in secret or not be wiling to provide every detail about everything on demand.
Are you all parents? Is this what you teach at home? Don't bitch and complain when a coach sticks it to you or another parent sticks it to you. You have it coming.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostClearly you are with club management. Why would you expect families to be loyal and treat your club fairly when clubs do anything but? Loyalty is a two way streak. Also, if you all weren't trying to beat each other and do tryouts earlier than the club down the street none of this would be necessary. We all get you're running a business (that's VERY clear) but keep in mind you have paying customers who have choices. If parents feel a club isn't the best fit for their player, or feel they've been poorly treated by a club, they can and will leave. $500 isn't going to stop the average soccer family.
