D2 coaches are not paid that well. Cost of living in Banner Elk, NC is 100% cheaper than living in Boca Raton. She coached there before and at another school in NC. it is a perfect for her to return. She has ZERO PRESSURE
The results the last few years:
2018 - 3-13
2017 - 5-12-3
2016 - 7-12

I think she's even from NC, so there's that. Smaller town, slower pace, cheaper living costs, not as oppressively hot (an actual change of seasons), foothills and access to the mountains (vs here where a highway interstate is considered the highest point above sea level).

The job was never open or posted because it would have become work for the athletic department to have to interview people so close to the season. They will go with the former assistant for now and make changes at the end of the season...or one would think..

Better players and students will never be interested in such a program unless it becomes a top program again. To do that you need a top coach and support from the school (bigger salary). Many schools like Lynn just can't justify the $ for non revenue sports.
