Yes, but Stovie Stars is NOT an academy

Ridiculous. This is the answer from a money grub. This is the answer from someone who sees no value in youth soccer unless it can generate a financial return.

Tournament teams are a joke. Designed to appease parent ego and maximize money.

The logic of a tournament team is: if you can't win a trophy, or get ranks points, then there is no value in playing the game.

You can join a team that plays in a league, and the entire fee for the league will be half the cost of one tournament.

Stovie Stars is a joke. A fake academy trying to squeeze idiot parents for money, by telling them all that their kid is the next Messi.

Anyone who says that you shouldnt be playing unless you are at the highest level is in it for the money. Period. Plenty of great athletes struggled as a kid, and every kid can get plenty of life lessons from playing sports at any level. (That is assuming you don't stick your kid in some money grub academy like Stovie Stars).

Then the Fire and GPS must be a disaster if all these players picked Stovie over them based upon your answer. Does anyone else have a better answer?

The way I understood it was that Stovi was not going to be able to travel as much away from home that every weekend league play would require of him. Limited Showcase travel probably works better for him.

GPS can't keep coaches, only DF has been there since day 1. They have had some great coaches leave due to the $$$$$$ first agenda! When you have a person like RP as the leader, it’s not surprising that people with integrity leave after one season.

some don't need to be kept, especially those that put their own interests ahead of the players.

If that was the case, they were in the right place to begin with!

Lets see. The last few years most of the older Fire players left the Fire in a hurry, in some cases just about entire teams, to go to GPS and now they are all leaving GPS to Stovie. Instead of attacking Stovie, perhaps these two clubs should stop pretending they are competitive. They practice only two or three times a week which is recreational and play in FYSA which no one on the college level pays attention to for it seems to be a relic of recreational travel soccer.

Who all is leaving? I don't think a handful of older boys playing U19 (the forgotten age group in competitive soccer) constitutes as being "all".

Considering that the team will only be doing the same tournament events as the other cubs, if they can get in from having no playing history, and likely at a lower bracket level should they get accepted; then your comment has little value. Furthermore, if FYSA is so "rec" then why did the team partner with Bonita for FYSA?

Lastly, GPS will be playing NPL this season.

Lastly, GPPS found another way to waste peoples time and have their parents spend way too much money. We will be playing NPL this season.

Wow. That really hurt. Now when we mercy rule the replacements we wont feel ill about it.

God won the state cup at Age 2004. What more can a club do to prove they are good?

You know that most B teams from that age group from Texas , California, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Washington, Maryland and Penn. Would mercy rule that team in the first twenty minutes or less. What they did was great on the recreational level and they should be able to hold their own against most Tenn., Georgia, excluding Atlanta,, and South Carolina teams, excluding the Battery club which would mercy rule them in ten minutes. But...they are still recreational level and way behind most of the nation as an A team
