Incoming boys academy u-14 northeast(04s)

It's a funny age. Kids go from being able to run by or dribble by most of their 12 year old peers, then suddenly there is this 14 year old man child in the way. All of the things that worked, don't any longer. Can't run by the 6'-3" gazelle that's on defense...the whole game changes.

Forgot to mention the 5'-10" 180 pound midfielder that likes running over 5'2" 100 pound 12 year olds.

Oh yeah... forgot that the 04's have been playing baby soccer at the Academy level this year. Time to rip that binky out boys!

Yeah, not sure how great of a move that is for the Bolts... If you aren't one of the 7ish players who are 2004's playing up on 2003's, you might as well go elsewhere... clearly you aren't a favorite. :)

Nah, way too much turnover at these younger ages to give up so soon. Some of those '04s playing up could end up moving to the Revs over the next few years, a few might end up going off to prep school, some could even decide to do high school sports. Those '04s playing on age just might keep making the cutoff year after year if they stick with it and continue to work hard.

Also, a very lazy player does not enjoy pressuring or defending one bit, makes no effort to win the ball back after he loses. Bolts would kill to have the Revs 04. Revs 03's are mostly interchangeable with other local DA 03's. Tap ins? Please. Interesting that Bolts kids turned down Revs offers.

So if I'm hearing you correctly, your son is a much more talented and hard working 03 that isn't getting the attention he deserves, according to you. Let us know how that works out. There's always ECNL.

That's true, the Revs consider him a star player. They give him all the PK's (rack up # of goals), free kicks, many corners, and playing time of course. For the other players, they see how long it takes for them to make a mistake. For the 04, they see how long it takes for them to see something, anything, and then he's back on top with his tap ins. It doesn't do the player any good and someday, the players just won't pass to him anymore. It's already happening.
