Ironically, the OC DA team in question is #2 of DA teams in the age group. 24-5-1 record. Currently has won both games at DA nationals. By the same token, the Leg A Z team just advanced to the Semifinals in the Region III Nationals. The point of this whole thread, I think, is to show that DA is NOT the only way as there are plenty of DA-quality teams (and players) out there without the DA label. DA is the smoke and mirrors that gets the coaches salivating, but quality players exists all over!

I don't get the point of this whole thread. Isn't the Leg-AZ team U19/U20 and has players that are in college?
Bring back the DA guys that already played a year in college and compare apples to apples. Heck an Akron freshman from Kendall DA was picked 3rd in MLS draft and has already played for NYC FC.

7 out for 8 U16 teams that advanced into DA round of 8 are MLS clubs. That is pretty enlightening.
