Is OC a top DA team? Maybe in Orange County they are. Are we talking Florida only or Nationally?

Ironically, the OC DA team in question is #2 of DA teams in the age group. 24-5-1 record. Currently has won both games at DA nationals. By the same token, the Leg A Z team just advanced to the Semifinals in the Region III Nationals. The point of this whole thread, I think, is to show that DA is NOT the only way as there are plenty of DA-quality teams (and players) out there without the DA label. DA is the smoke and mirrors that gets the coaches salivating, but quality players exists all over!

Well said. Leg AZ is an excellent team! Hopefully they can win two more and take Regionals.

I don't get the point of this whole thread. Isn't the Leg-AZ team U19/U20 and has players that are in college?

Bring back the DA guys that already played a year in college and compare apples to apples. Heck an Akron freshman from Kendall DA was picked 3rd in MLS draft and has already played for NYC FC.

7 out for 8 U16 teams that advanced into DA round of 8 are MLS clubs. That is pretty enlightening.

Nice try. Leg-AZ is a U19 team, with most of the kids graduated seniors preparing to go to college. They even had some 99s (rising seniors) playing withe them. Nice try "DA all the way, even if it makes no sense" Guy.

No we pretty much knew that. MLS clubs get the best because they draw from major metro areas with loads of talented players, and kids play for free. Players are less likely to be wealthy surburbanites only wanting to play in college. Doesn't hurt that its professional coaching vs some of these pay to play club coaches.

More proof that even a blind squirrel can find a nut now and then. They should keep to playing pretender OC.

Lost in penalty kicks. Tough way to lose. Great job Leg AZ for representing Florida. Any chance Orlando City wants a rematch?
