The dialogue would be much better if only people who have played or officiated this game offer their opinion. From the comments it's fairly easy to tell who hasn't, which are typically the same crowd obnoxiously screaming "hand ball" or calling for a foul when advantage is being played. Clueless bunch

No one here described themselves as a soccer God. Why is it a problem for you to accept that some people with more experience than you, perhaps more educated in the LOTG than you , are credible enough to offer an opinion ?
If you want to be taken seriously, provide some information that would make your opinion more believable.

Love when arrogance is punctuated with incompetence. Soccer Ref behavior if I have ever seen it! PLAY ON!

Pretty obvious when a ref is offering their opinion as well. The "hand ball" vs. "handling" and "offside vs. offsides" are two areas where refs seem to try and take a high ground vs. the ignorant non-refs.
I was watching and EPL game not long ago where the commentator and the color commentator (former high level player) spoke at length about a "hand ball" that was not called. They both called it a "hand ball" several times. Not once did they call it "handling".
That is the type of douchbaggery that refs on this site are famous for. "Trifling" if I might say so.

Yet the elitist refs on a silly website with a few dozen people reading get all high and mighty about calling it "handling" and talking down their noses at the ignorant unwashed masses here. What a bunch of snobby douches. Make sure you get to that U12 match on some cow pasture in East Nowheresville and make sure everyone sees how well you know the LOTG.
Referees have game reports that must be completed . Part of preparing a proper and complete game report is to use the terms that are in the LOTG. Your " experts" usually do not fill out Referee reports.
Your perception of being talked down to is a behavior issue of your own making. If you do not want to have the perception of being" unwashed" , do not speak and act like an unwashed person.
Although you try an make an attempt to belittle the Referees that work U 12 games on not so great fields, the children in the game appreciate having a Referee. But it reveals your attitude.
Indeed, Youth soccer is one area in life where adults could actually learn from the children. The children that play are the best part of the game. They have a chance, ( if parents allow them ) to show what they have on the field , and along the way gain maturity and understanding of the game. When you have dome it for along time, and watched the children grow and prosper, it helps make the endeavor of being a Referee worthwhile. It helps overcome the bad taste that you get from parents, but I always am ready to cut them some slack, even the unwashed, for the benefit of the children.

Bad apples everywhere - players, parents, coaches and refs. Most aren't.
In the youngest ages, I think the earlier point of "learning" is lost on most adults, specifically parents and coaches (I'm not a ref). Too often it's just ugly. It's also terrible that the result on some level is attrition of young referees.
In high school, it's the problem is at the opposite end of the spectrum from attrition of young referees. You're dealing with a completely distinct culture among the oldest officials. I think the system for evaluating and assigning officials should change, could, but won't. Everyone, including the best officials, suffer as a result.
