    2015 Forbes College Rankings

Of course the #1 college in the country is a D3 -- Pomona

5 D3s out of the top 10 -- Pomona, Williams, Swarthmore, Amherst, MIT

6 more D3s out of top 25 (so 11 out of 25) -- Wesleyan, Claremont McKenna, Haverford, Chicago, Bowdoin, Tufts

11 more out of top 50 (so 23 out of 50) -- Wellesley, Vassar, W&L, Carleton, Cal Tech, Middlebury, Barnard, Colby, Oberlin, Kenyon, Whitman

30 more out of next group from 51-100 (so 53 out of 100) -- Hamilton, Reed, Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, Franklin & Marshall, Rochester, Colorado College, Hopkins, Wash U, Bryn Mawr, Grinnell, Union, Macalester, Brandeis, NYU, DePauw, Emory, Scripps, Trinity (CT), Sewanee, Wheaton (Ill), Dickinson, Skidmore, Centre, Conn Coll, Occidental, Mt Holyoke, Denison, Rhodes, Trinity (TX)

You do realize Forbes is as good as a ranking as your four year old daughter's college ranking of preferred mascots?

This guy is like a friend from high school. The other guys all laughed at how small his manhood was (he literally had names like inch high private eye) and yet he would always brag at the dinner table how much a stud he was.

Remember the old saying: It's not the meat, it's the motion." The measure of a "stud" is not he size of his manhood.

Guess that's what all the D3 parents say also but ....

Lol. Guess when your kid can't play soccer very well, then you need to look at things like a Forbes ranking to help explain to your wife where all the money went.

Okay, so the gauntlet has been thrown down, again.

So, are you implying the only reason to spend money on club soccer is to obtain a D1 scholarship? If so, how much of a scholarship is "acceptable" to you to qualify? Does it need to be a full ride? Or is a 50% scholarship enough?

In reality land, there are not that many .5 scholarships out there, particularly among the boys. Many programs are not fully funded. Although some programs spread the wealth, others give big dollars to the lucky few.

D1 versus D3 has nothing to do with the quality of the school. U Chicago was a founding member of the Big 10. They dropped football and then dropped out of the Big 10. NYU gave up big time sports as a result of a basketball scandal. Aside from the athletic experience itself (which admittedly is quite different for D1 versus D3, although not necessarily for the better) how else does D1 improve the student's college experience. Granted, D1 schools tend to be larger than D3 schools (which can be a plus or a minus, depending on the student and his or her interests) but D1's are not always larger.

Not all D3 schools are elite, expensive small liberal arts colleges.

Maybe a parent who wants their kid to have a good education while playing soccer. Maybe the idea of having a "job" of playing D1 soccer is not that attractive to either the parent or the kid.Check out the backgrounds of the Williams and Amherst women's teams; they are filled with ECNL players.

Heiny, Maybe your wunderkind is above the level of soccer played at the top of D3, but most kids never come close to that level.

Good for you. Continue giving your excellent advice (suitable for the 1%). Make sure you are at the sideline of all your daughter's games so you can wipe her nose as needed (or another part of her body.) Just remember what a waste your life has been, particularly with all the advantages you had. And do not forget how your arrogance ruined your first daughter's college career. (Is it true she changes her name to disassociate from you?)

Too funny, BTBT. You love the rankings when they support your positions. Just like you love travel and "championships" and commitment lists and all the rest when it's self-serving. Too bad you all didn't have the resources to send your kid to a school in the top 300. That's what the state regional schools are for, so the taxpayers will be glad to know we provided such aid to a celebrity family. Did the Section 8 housing help you get that aid from the ISL too???
