Correction. Cuts both ways for most of us. The poster interacting with you cut both ways in the other direction. He forced his kid to pick a school substantially below BOTH her athletic and academic talents. And that is precisely why he keeps threads like this going. It is all about that and the whole deal here on TS represents his inner war about what he did that he plays out with all of us via massive projection and denial.

That might be a single parent family, dirt poor, where no one has attended college before. In any case, I'm sure the parents didn't go to a place like Duke. Don't judge.

How about this guy. Clearly thinks his kid's 1950 is something. The funny thing is while he's on here talking about how elite D3's are and how necessary soccer is in the equation he's got others from his same crowd talking about how common place 2200's are. Sort of puts both the 1950 and 2100 guys in their place. Can't make this stuff up.

Think you read it wrong. Excellent describes the athleticism, not the academics. And he clearly has had experience with recruiting as well as T-S, because he was smart enough not to name his kid or divulge their school.

My cousin's kid's recent story:

ISL player, 3 year starter. Top team for a good, but not top club.

Was offered tip at top NESCAC school.

Decided on mid-tier Ivy school, no soccer support. Playing club soccer in college.

Some schools have some serious club soccer. That is a good alternative for some players.

But then mommy and daddy can't brag about them playing college soccer. Everything here is about those bragging rights don't let the holier than though clan lead you to believe otherwise. Gotta be a real soccer and in their minds club soccer just isn't good enough even though they say it's all about education.

Now this reeks of more of what might more properly be termed a meltdown. Bragging, which you echolalicly allege but I never actually see, seems to get under your skin like a flesh-eating disease. And just as resistant to treatment apparently.

If some Division 1 is not as good as some Division 3. And some Division 1 "club" is better than some Division 3 varsity. Then some Division 1 club is better than some Division 1 varsity?

Seems like someone is trying real hard to justify the quality of intramurals. Seems pretty sad.
