Wishful thinking. There haven't been any college coaches at any Thornz games this year. And they don't have any players good enough to even make the region ODP team (which is rec+ level) so how are any going to make a national team? What kind of kool aid does the Timbers force you clowns and lemmings to drink anyway?

No sorry, I do not share your opinion... and many othets do not. Who cares if a player is already committed to a school, or committs in the next few months. A committment or signed letter of intent is what many are working towards, and many will get.
And all 6 of those players are regretting their decision every day. They all went from playing good soccer against top competition to chasing bootballs over the heads of rec players.

Another stupid statement, that is not factual.

If you knew anything about youth soccer you would know you cannot play Thorns or Timbers DA and play Region IV ODP.

Clearly you have not been to any of the Thorns Academy U17 and U19 games this fall as there have been D1 and D2 coaches at several games this fall from the PNW.

What about the girls going to Oregon, WA, GCU and Cal Bakersfield.

The girl from WPFC did not make the Florida roster.

Plus 2 of the FC 5 only got college offers once they went to the Thorns.

So what do you do with a bad situation? Complain? Or keep a good attitude?

                I'm confused now.

If ECNL teams play boys DA teams, that's "development". When the Thorns do it, that's "hiding".

Wouldn't that imply that the boys DA is better than ECNL, whereas the GDA is better than (or at least on par with) the boys DA? You don't "develop" much playing down, after all.

Of course, beyond the stupid insults that frequent this forum, age matters. At about U14 and up, an elite boys team will be better than an elite girls team at age, simply because of the biological differences between males and females. Below that, the two genders will be at parity--and the girls might even have a slight advantage due to earlier onset of puberty.

USWNT regularly gets throttled by U15 boys teams in scrimmages. Just the facts.

Keep telling yourself those stories if it makes you feel better.

Many Oregon girls got D1 offers before the invention of ECNL and Thorns Academy.

First of all, about half the Thorns went to odp region camp last year. Thorns Academy has many top players and Florida showcase was flooded with college coaches. Hundreds of D1 teams need players. Then add D2, D3, NAIA, etc. I stand by my bet that verbal offers will be pouring in. Can't you be happy for Oregon girls?

Can't you just be happy for everyone? It is not about winning. These are just kids and the first question we should ask is did they have fun with their friends on a trip to the sunshine.

Very few players from Oregon will play D1. 90% won't see any meaningful playtime until at least their junior year. The exception being Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and small AZ schools who will get toasted for the entire 4 years. So, are people really going to brag that their kid went D1? All of the play stats are public, so it's best to be humble and let your kids enjoy their experience.

I have to add further that if you were the kid and all your parent cared about was wins, how would you feel? We need to get away from this winning is everything culture. A lot of kids will not win and there is still good in them. Stop zeroing in on the negative and instead consider cheering kids up.

These are facts. Do some research and then you will find out.

I suppose the player who just committed to Utah after the Florida trip isn't really going there either in your world.
