          As these boys are celebrating Senior night with their parents, let's see how they did.

                so only 10 out of the 32 2012 D1 commits from the New England area (only 31%) are still playing. That's a low, sobering number.

                  Yeah. D1 is a grind. Especially if you're not getting any minutes.
                  I bet the number still playing D3 is way higher. School, social life and soccer. Not a bad mix for those not interested in MLS.

                    Yes it is but these numbers are consistent with numbers overall for D1 sports. The poster who does this analysis usually follows up with D3 information but as I recall it isn't that much better. So many things can happen - injuries, lack of PT (so they drop out on their own), maturation (realizing the next chapter of life is upon them soon), burn out....D3 may be "easier" but it isn't "easy."

                            Sorry, the name is slightly different. Bumped the relevant thread up. You will see the D3 before the D1.
