It was mostly an informational meeting. Getting to know the new Top Hat guy. Girls scrimmaged for a short period of time; however, none of the Weston GDA staff was watching. I'm guessing there'll be another ID Clinic with proper evaluations by Weston GDA staff ??

Sunrise...are you and your parents OK with getting taken over by Weston?

It's very likely that in 2 years you will have no teams over u12. All the chest beating of college placement will be gone.

You guys are really good with that?

As it has been stated since GDA was started over a year ago, the quality girls will migrate , sooner or later, ( in this case sooner) to GDA or ECNL . sunrise doesn’t have quality teams anymore... they are smart , at least the can sell the u8 to u13 angle about getting them into GDA.

And whoever doesn’t make the GDA cut will stay and perform at sunrise hoping to get better for the following year GDA tryout.

          It’s all good

What league will all the Sunrise State champions play in next year. The will be qualified for the FL State Sunshine Conference. They will then set all the winning records their too. That league will be better than ECNL and GDA.

                  High School Participation
Academy Players currently registered with an Academy Club have committed to forgo participating in both the Academy and high school soccer. Players who participate in high school soccer are ineligible to participate in Academy practice and competition during that same season. Only players who have been granted a waiver by the League Office will be allowed to remain on their clubs Academy roster during the high school soccer season. This waiver must be received by DA office before September 1, 2018 to be considered for the roster exemption. The waiver eligibility guidelines are as follows:

Players who receive consideration or financial aid to attend a private high school based on their participation with the soccer team are eligible

                  • No specific number of waivers available to a club, but that number is naturally self-limiting to field a full team throughout the Academy season 5

                  • The waiver must include the following points:
                  – Addressed to Academy Program from the Principal, Head Master or similar position
                  – Player name and high school
                  – States the player is expected to participate in high school soccer as part of their enrollment at this school and subsidized education
--States the term, semester and/or dates in which the player will be participating in high school soccer
                  – Signed and dated
                  – Sent to Academy Office for approval prior to the start of the high school season

                  • With a waiver, the player’s roster slot will not be prorated to not include the high school season as part of their 25% start rate. A waivered player must start 25% of the team’s total games for the season.

Players registered with a Development Academy club, that do not attend a school that requires sport participation as part of their enrollment or whose waivers are not approved by the Academy office, will not be allowed to re-enter the program during the same season after participating in the high school season with their current or a different Academy Club.

Why? They are not admitting it publicly, just sending some letters to the USSF DA.

Becaus nothing stays private. They make a big deal saying they do not provide athletic scholarships, when everyone knows they do. Time to make a decision.

Any school that admits financial aid is given for athletic participation is what 80% of the public schools have been waiting for. Please hand us this information when you get it. This violates the FL HS rules and this would create a level playing field for our kids who attend public school. The private school year after year, take our players from our neigborhoods and come back and beat us.

Oh please. Are you doubting the unbelievably large number of nationally ranked Catholic African-Americans at St. Thomas? It's a total coincidence. A church would never do such a thing, right?
