If you go to a high level program it is likely done of these frustrations wont exist. Some are only at club level because of the mixed bag of levels.

they always exist. watch Ronaldo. you think he always gets the ball to right foot or has his teammates pick out all his runs? You think messi is loving his Argentine teammates right now? Its just levels. there are always differences.


College is by no means full of perfect players. In fact it not even full of "good" players.

Take a gk position for example, they can make a great flying save but if their teammates are ball watching instead of marking, that great effort gets wasted. This is an example of a player's limitations the one trying to make a save and the one not staying focused. It is a team sport.

We get it s team sport. But no College is going to pass on the kid making a ton of great saves just becasue a defender does not react. Thats the point here. The poor defender is not impacting the GK at all other than short term results.

So what if pro teams watching or looking at results. The results may impact that decision. Some of this is bigger than college for some while this is a gda discussion, for boys this can happen and girls too on a smaller scale. We arent talking about just college. It is about how another's play or lack thereof can affect a player and a team. There is a ripple effect.

For girls we are or at least were. t was based on discussing the impact you teammates have on development - not results.

Serious question(s) for those who are the Stars B ECNL teams, are you going to stick with it next year?

I know some went to Stars specifically for GDA and to follow that "leader". Now that he is not the coach, there is not GDA, and you are on a 2nd tier club, are you looking to move next year to a club that does offer it?

Yes, my inquiry is slanted, but my intent isn't to cause a ruckus. Some may be feeling like a bait & switch happened; others are denying they are on a B team; others accept it but still feel it's the best opportunity for them.

Not with Stars but I think it's impossible to predict. It all depends on how things play out next year. Many thought GDA would be the cat's meow last year but it wasn't for some. Also each player's situation, expectations, goals etc are different

According to USSF and many clubs last year it was going to be the greatest thing ever to happen to women's soccer. Anyone who believed it should have looked at BDA and where that's gone in the last ten years.

the key part of your post is 10 years. anyone who want to judge the GDA before the playoffs are over clearly ALREADY made up their mind. One year is nothing.

the ECNL Clubs leaving gave it a half hearted look just in case something unforseen happened. They were not really committed to it in any way.

5 of the top 20 clubs in GDA are leaving for All-In ECNL. If those clubs were only in it half heartedly, they must really be amazing at full strength!!!
