    Not the OP but that’s correct. People forget that D1 is QU, CCSU, Northeastern. It’s not all Power 5 and the kids don’t all come the top club teams.

    I don’t know Cheshire but it’s an LL school and would clearly D1 kids every few years just like every other large high school.

    Now if the argument is getting to D1 from a third tier club that’s a different discussion. The question is why? If a player wants to give it a go at that level why not just take a run at top team and get the exposure. The alternative would be trying to work the ID camp circuit and then having no outlet for coaches to watch you play because your team can’t get accepted into top events

      Players that aren't from "top" clubs that do make it onto D1 rosters often aren't well prepared for the demands and pace of college soccer. Getting onto a roster is one thing, playing is entirely different. Those are the players much more likely to drop out ofter a short while. There are exceptions of course, but it's more the norm

        Serious questions as you seem to know a bit about these kids. When you say left the cult, what club did they go to? In other words where were they recruited from and which D1 colleges did they land at? And do they get minutes? Curious how this played out.

          yes, and the OP is saying AFC is a cult? Or Cheshire HS is a cult? Or both? For better or worse, there's little turnover of rosters at afc. Cheshire does ok during regular seasons, but both girls and boys always get dismissed relatively early in the state tournament.

                Ow's 2006 girls are the #1 team in CT at their age. Deal with it.

                  That speaks volumes about the state of soccer in CT

                    #1 on Gotsoccer? LMAO. Pinning your hopes on a 12 year old team. LMAO.

                    OW = Yesterday's news
                    OW = Fish wrap
                    OW = Canary cage liner.

                        I don’t live in that part of the state but you’ve probably answered your own question. If the teams are routinely bounced early from the state tournament than they probably don’t have players that can handle the pressures of fast physical games.

                        A high school aged AFC team (sporting, Ajax etc) wouldn’t be able to get the ball out of their own defensive end against the top clubs team in like OW or CFCU. Playing on a team like that isn’t exactly good preparation for playing D1 in soccer and not having at least a few players on HS team with that experience is obviously going to limit how far a team can go in the CIAC event.

                        Regardless of the HS, the formula for success is having a few very strong Club players and surrounding them with athletes and a great GK. Look at Ridgefield as an example.

                            You lose all credibility when you bring up GOT SOCCER.
                            Someday you might learn but right now it is completely clear you are either a rookie or just not smart.

                              There's an easier way to make the point. No CT team has beaten the 06 OW girls.

                                Speaking of not smart... You lose all credibility when you don’t know how the inter web works. You’re able to reply to a specific post, as opposed to just posting your stream of consciousness. It works better that way.
