Did the Albany coach get sacked? They were a decent team.

Makes sense. Temple has been struggling.

Temple's competition is tougher. And historically tough recruiting. Wish him well, but won't be easy.

Wasn't she only at Marist for 2 years?

That sounds right. She was brought in quick to replace the chaos that the coach before her created. Ugh. What a mess. And I don’t just mean on the field chaos either. Apparently their was some major drama among the coaches and athletic staff too.

Hopefully they have signed their letters of intent, which means they have to honor the 1st year, after that its the wild-wild west....Sorry Sam and Bridget...!

Not totally accurate - a prospective student athlete can speak with the institution and they can let the prospective student-athlete out of their NLI commitment

Yes that is true but at this point where are you going to go? Not easy to land a spot elsewhere, let alone get any $ which are long gone. Do you roll the dice and see what the new coach does and attend the school you have been looking forward to?

It is a good reminder, however, not to burn bridges when recruiting because things like this can happen. You may also want to transfer after a year because of poor academic or soccer fit.

Marist isn't a fully funded program. So they had to spread it around and rely on finding kids that are also good students that would max out the merit money. Looks like the 2020 class is entirely ECNL players which is a solid class in the MAAC. Tough pill for the incoming class to never play for the staff that recruited them.

Transfers may happen but smaller schools like this tend to retain the players. All bets are off if the new coach is rough.

I've been to Marist a few times and its a really nice campus but expensive. Albany by contrast is a much larger state school and definitely not Marist academically. Can't see Marist kids looking there for a move.

Quinnipiac is fully funded and Monmouth and Fairfield are close behind with over 12 scholarships. These 3 will continue to dominate until other schools in MAAC decide to fund their programs

How many scholarships does Marist have in comparison to the other schools you have listed?

Probably 8 or 9 divided many ways
