Seriously!!!! Yes. Not even close. Bayside NPL. Bolts championship division of NEP. Blowouts every time they have played. Breakers are just adding numbers with this merger not talent.

I think everyone assumes this was a fluke because CSU is not very good.

Very soon, within days, we anticipate that Scorpions/Breakers will be completing a merge with FC Greater Boston Bolts. The Boards of both clubs have voted unanimously to create 'FC Boston'. Girls teams will be known as 'Boston Breakers Academy', boys teams as 'Bolts'. The merge agreement is being completed today and needs the review of an attorney, then will be signed if no issues arise.

The merge will give both clubs more geography, will improve the size and strength of both boys and girls programs. It will give the former Bolts girls access to NPL and ECNL and will give the former Scorpions boys access to the US Development Academy and the Pre-Academy. FC Boston will have more visibility and recognition than the clubs had previously. There will be synergy and economies of scale. Very few clubs, none closer than New Jersey, have access to both the ECNL and US Soccer Boys Development Academy.

Many people are aware of the discussions but since it is not fully completed no announcement has been made. We didn't want families left in the dark any longer, hence this 'pre-announcement'. When the merge agreement is signed we will make a more formal announcement.

Things you may want to know…

Fees… should not change because of the merge. If we add something or remove something then that could cause a change, aside from that we (Scorpions/Breakers and FC Greater Boston) have agreed to generally hold line on fees for 2015-16. Fees for all teams will be made known prior to tryouts.

Tryouts .. As usual. The traditional tryout sites of each club will still be used and players should attend tryouts as usual. The exceptions will be that any player attending ECNL and/or NPL tryouts (girls) or Boys Academy tryouts (boys) should attend those specific tryouts (Taunton for girls in second week of June, Mt. Ida College and Brandeis for boys, invitation only… Scorpion boys should speak with Dan Colwell). We will be sending a more comprehensive guide to tryouts in the near future.

Uniforms… Scorpion boys are at the end of their cycle and Bolts girls as part of the Breakers agreement must wear Boston Breakers Academy gear. Boys will need to get Bolts gear, girls Boston Breakers gear. These players will only need to purchase a modified/lesser kit. At the beginning of next year (2016-17) all teams will be at the end of their cycles and will start new from there.

Coaches... Coaching assignments for all teams will be made prior to tryouts.

Locations… most teams will not change locations due to this merge.

Leadership. Each former club will be provided 4 seats on the new Board. Brian Ainscough will be the Boys Director. Fred Marks will be the Girls director. Sydney Stoll and Dan Colwell will have high positions in FC Boston.

          Semi-related announcements…

          A. FC Boston has hired Mo Keita, Norm James and Doc Simpson to create and build a new Region in areas North of Boston.

          B. FC Boston will be creating and building a new Region out of FK Taunton.

Have to give credit to DC here.

          1. He moves to scorps for a year (gets away from FO) and brings his dream team with him (objectively, they are very good).

          2. Most of his boys will play DAP - probably good for most of them, at least it's a good opportunity. He did right by his boys. Many like to move on and up, but end up leaving their players behind. Nice to see he's opening doors for them, while also helping himself. I like that.

          3. He probably gets a big raise, and is coaching at a higher level.

          4. He doesn't have to deal with FM anymore (priceless).

          5.

          3.

The odd thing about Breakers North is there are no tryouts listed online...

Yes they are. Tryouts listed for north on the scorpions and breakers web sites. I didn't check the bolts site but assume tryouts are listed for the north there, as well
