Take some parenting classes or better yet put your kid in singles tennis.
My child is being helped by working hard for his money. And by the way, he gets paid per assist and he plays defense as well and gets paid for that too.

Your team got knocked out of State Cup because the kids weren't being motivated properly.....offer them $40/goal, $50/assist and if your a goalie a minimum of $10/save depending on whether it was straight to their hands.

          Pay for an Assist

If you are stupid enough to actually pay for performance, please pay for assists and you will do your child and the whole team a favor. If it catches on in your club, they might actually become a good team and your insatiable addiction to wins will be satisfied.

Assists are for losers who can not finish

Actually, assists are for unselfish, smart players. In my book, an assist is as good as a goal. It's even better when the goal is made by a player that's not that good of a finisher, but the ball is so well placed that there's no way he/she would miss. ;)

listen pal noone here is going to get rich being the guy who is not quite good enough to finish. If you want to pay for assists that is fine I pay $50 per goal. Last Saturday cost me $300 but, it was worth it my kids love to score and they love to play soccer.

I don't agree with paying for goals. I believe it causes all types of problems
                  Selfish play
                  unwillingness to play defense
                  no reason to hustle

When the sole reward is based on scoring which relies on the actions of many others it is a stupid reward.

My kids are good finishers with both left and right foot, but they also are unselfish and smart players. When they were younger, I started to pay for goals, and all they wanted to do was shoot (no team play), now making assists is as rewarding.

I pay my kids on the following scale:

                        1. Get to the game with all gear on--$25
                        2. Named a starter--$15
                        3. Playing offense instead of a lousy defensive position--$10
                        4. Shots on goal--$5
                        5. Goals scored with head--$30
                        6. Goals scored with feet--$25
                        7. Goal scored on bicycle kick--$50
                        8. Yellow cards--$10
                        9. Score on free kick outside the box--$30
                        10. Moves that make another player fall down-$10
                        11. Tackles to win the ball clean--$10
                        12. assists-$5 ( should have scored yourself)
                        13. Play the whole game--$20
                        14. Named captain for the game--$20
                        15. Lead the team onto the field-$5
                        16. Other coach praises you after game-$20
                        17. Ref comes up and praises you after game-$15
                        18. National team scouts come to your game-$50.

It gets hard to keep up with but the wife helps keep the stats too. Last game cost me $1,325. Expensive but well worth it.

You must be one of the parents from FC Florida that they are talking in this post - "... an ultra rich parent willing to pay for everyone. The one parent even has a private jet and flies the coaches to games on opposite side of state!".

Too many looser stats being rewarded. I penalize for assists because they should be scoring. Same with tackle how the hell can they score if they are a looser that has to play defense. That is for the looser kids
