They’re literally a town program. Which I thought the whole point of NEP was to get away from the town programs...

Not a real club. A town program attached to a money grubbing dumpster fire (GPS) in order to find a back door into the NEP. Total joke. NEP is just a stuck up version of the NSL.

Acquisitions is a valid buisness strategy, its a good way to expand into a region as compared to starting from scratch. Probably a high percentage will not last and die out or merge etc. will the level of football increase, in most cases no, but some may technically grow. Vipers are doing ok for a takeover start, Pardovo maybe ok.

There are some other decent town programs out there; Newton, Franklin.

GPS didn’t acquire MUSC. They simply charge a license fee so MUSC can play in the NEP.

It is just a backdoor way of getting into NEP.

If you are in Marshfield area and want the town team feel and convenience coupled with NEP level competition, sounds like it's worth a look.

I live north of Boston, and our town has a soccer club that plays in NEP. It was great for uLittle (u12 and lower). Build love of the game, play with your friends, engender regional pride, and when (s)he decides to get more serious, the alphabet leagues will gladly upgrade the one to whom puberty wasn't kind with your all star.

What constitutes a real club? How is GPS Marshfield any less of a real club than say fcusa or NEFC? My daughter plays for Marshfield United and she has shown great development and enthusiasm for soccer. She has a great coach. Now I have other clubs contacting me during town games to go play for them next season.

Possibly, or maybe you are simply irrelevant.

Personally I like when town teams beat clubs that charge a lot of money
