Your kid is still on the baby field .... You don't know what you don't know. Come back and tell is in 5 years.

If you're looking at a national ranking for 10 year olds as some way of judging the quality of the team, then you are horribly naive. Ignore rankings, and watch the field:

      1) are they playing the very best teams around and outplaying them? Not necessarily winning every game - because at that age you can win every game with a really fast athlete at forward and a good CB - but dominating possession and generating many more scoring chances. If they aren't playing the best teams, then they won't develop, and you'll be shocked when HS rolls around and your kid makes the JV team.

      2) is the team dominated by 2-3 players? If so, what will the team be if they leave for NEFC or Stars or one of the bigger programs that routinely get their players college spots?

      3) how are the older teams from the club doing and what kind of roster turnover do they experience from year to year? That will tell you what will most likely happen to your daughter's team. The best players will leave for better opportunities and challenges, and the best of the remaining players will be hoping for a walk on slot at URI, or Hartford or Quinnipiac.

Does that sound like something you'd like to invest $10,000 and 2,500+ hours in?

Looking at 08 teams recent history..... Wins over FC Stars Blue and NEFC Central to win NEP spring final four. Tied Fury (1st place team in fall pre-GDA) and beat OW in Stars labor day tournament. Seems like they can compete with anyone.

For 2008 this year, Stars top 2 teams play in ECNL regional league and NEFC 2008 top team plays in the pre-DA girls development league (along with SSS).

Move this to the RI forum. Bayside are irrelevant and always will be.

oh my head hurts with these replies... who cares about '08 they not even through puberty yet. Who cares what the teams look like now in the NPL league... if it was an ECNL team, then the girls that they lost to other clubs scorps, stars, nefc etc may decide to return (or not...) and other girls that are unable to commit to mass or conn drive would be interested. I'm not here to say they should get one I don't care, they seem the most logical choice for the southern area if selection time comes and seem to have taken steps to make it happen.

and you cant move this to RI because a number of girls that went through the bayside program are playing over in your mass teams...

Good points! I never look at the younger team records but thry are stating to compete at U12/U13 against the Selects, GPS, and NEFC-For me it starts with coaching talent, and players. I think Bayside is building it there but are losing some to ECNL/DA teams. Could provide another option to RI players, which is a small group of players compared to Mass.

Sure, you want another option ... have them go to a club in CT.

Who cares? Let them In and see how they do? What are you worried about? Are you scare of being exposed ? Your teams inflated stats from playing the same teams over and over, are a farce.
PROMOTION and RELEGATION is the only equalizer in soccer.

Yes. Because they decided to leave the irrelevant club bayside. Nobody cares about Bayside. Average club doing average things.

It’s more complicated than that. Even if they had one team that could hang with the top teams in its age group, the league requires a team for all age groups, in order to deal with scheduling, etc. Ignorant yahoos that are way too excited about some 10 year olds that won some games wouldn’t understand that, though.

The system is wrong .Blow it all up, and start over. At its current state, it stifles progress and true competition . Don’t theses teams get tired of either getting blown out or blowing out teams. Ignorant yahoos come on anonymous girly soccer posts, and rant. They love the stays quo. They love to feel protected. Snowflakes. Who really GAF about bayside or the irrelevant club that your kid plays for, or that you coach at. Your kid aint special, if you resort to talking soccer to validate your worth.

It’s not really that complicated. Mass clubs would fight it though, because they would lose players.

Bayside is all about the boys. Check the Revs home grown player list.
