ECNL Regional league is just as bad of an idea...basically an ECNL version of DPL....does that mean ECNL is folding?

    Nope.
DPL is plan B for when GDA folds. DPL is no the reason that GDA will be terminated, there is many other reasons, flaws impossible to correct
ECNL does not compare to DPL. Simply because they do have true showcases, unlike DPL Dallas and Atlanta that we’re complete failures in every sense. ECNL always takes their girls to ECNL and non ECNL events thru the year. DPL will go only to DPL events that are bad and expensive
ECNL has being around longer and far more welcome than the GDA.

      Your reading comprehension sucks.

DPL = ECNL regional, not ECNL

ECNL Regional hasn’t been rolled out in the SE yet, but it will be eventually. It’s a second level money grab platform that trades off the ECNL brand, but is nothing like ECNL.

If you signed up for DPL and thought you were getting anything similar to GDA, well that’s on you. Anyone with a brain could have told you how that was going to work out. Exactly like it has.

There are only two platforms to play on if you are a high level player, period. ECNL or GDA. Anything below those two is not anything close as far as exposure and competition. These are the facts.

No one cares about DPL, ECNL regional, NPL, State Cup. I mean I’m sure that their are players here and there that are exceptional and will get noticed / scholarships, but they are the exception, not the rule.

For most kids, it is about college so GDA can and perhaps should be the main focus for WMT and Pros.
If your kid is national team material, and they are not at a GDA club, it is made clear that they need to get with a gda team to get called in, with very few exceptions.

Outside of that which is basically every single youth player, find the best fit for your budget, location and goals maybe that is the local gda and maybe not Good luck.

There lies the big problem - who decides whos NT material? Besides the superstar forwards with all the skill and finishing capabilities - and the 10 position , which you need a prodigy to be able to make NT - all other positions are interchangeable at the elite girls soccer level-

You can swap out fullbacks - the 6 center, center ds, wingers - even GK with countless of other girls - depends who’s vouching for you at the time and who’s buddy buddy with who

Nah, man. I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. All center backs and wing backs aren’t equal.... not even close.

They're taking GDA players because they want want their top prospects only playing in that league. Doesn't matter if your local DA club is crap, the message is very clear- DA only if you want a call up.
It artificially props up the league.

Yes, the DA players they are taking are not good?

Our NPL, and HS players are better, right?

There are many in ECNL who are equally qualified. USSF will take an occasional one to make it look like they're unbiased, but it's all BS. It's all about keeping GDA alive, not picking the nation's best talent.

The only ecnl players they will take are the prodigy’s - they aren’t going to call in a right back or a fullback from an ECNL team when you have the same exact type player all over GDA

Stop your crying. If you have a player that is good enough to be on the YNT you have already made your way to the DA. This is just common sense....the federation wants their NT pool trained under their curriculum and under the constant view of their scouts. If you have a daughter that has aspirations to make the NT and you are not in DA then you are fighting an uphill battle, and I question your/ your daughters real commitment to this goal. Also, don’t spew the stuff about not everyone having a good DA option available. The families who are devoted to a goal of the NTs don’t let geography get in the way. Suck it up.

That’s not what they said. What they said is if that is your goal, that’s the program you should be in. Won’t guarantee you get in, but gets you where you need to be to be considered

Unless your kid is one of the 3 players in Florida with enough talent to arrange a deal to get sent to a NT camp - just choose based on location, budget, etc because your kid is not getting called up. And after the YNT stuff, no one give a fig where the player was at 15 yer old. Virtually NONE of them are going pro or serving on first team. Period.

GDA may be a fine choice for your player but enough with the NT nonsense. Really, enough.
