Did somebody really copy and paste their joke on 2 threads? Mind you, flaming charger... not terrible. But not good enough for 2 threads.

And does WFF send u15 and u17 boys in the other direction?
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostIt is the same deal with Celtic, players can come over to make long trips to get their teeth kicked in. That strategy worked so well with Celtic, that they decided to double down with the CC. The Chargers have less of a girls program than Celtic.
What a fking joke.

Well, so much for the Girls DA theory! This will have about as much impact as the Chargers/FL Premier affiliation, but makes even less sense given the geography! Failing clubs grasping at straws to try to stay relevant.....

This definitely smells of desperation on both sides. WFF wanted to be TBU, but couldn't pull it off. It all started to go the wrong way when they screwed up the Greater Tampa takeover, then lost Palm Harbor and almost lost East Lake. CC has been more a slow and steady decline on the girls side, with the boys side recently following suit now that kids only leave their home clubs for their DA, not their NPL teams, and the better kids get a choice between them and TBU. It's now TBU on top alone, with probably Florida Premier behind them now instead of WFF or CC.

This looks like this is true. Looking at the chargers website they are planning on hosting Boys DA tryouts at WFF locations:

What happened there was CC hosted DA tryouts at Florida Premier. A few FP kids went, and a few rejected their offers and decided to stay at FP. CC thought they'd lure a bunch more and when they couldn't sell the parents on why the DA was better, they pretty much just gave up on the whole thing. CC likes to put things on their website and not follow through. Rember the affiliation with the Rowdies (the first time)? Remember the affiliation with Orlando City? Then Florida Premier? Now Rowdies again (how long will that last)... And next WFF. It will last 1 season of tryouts and flame out.
