College coaching is different. You can go find good players all over. You are not stuck with who shows for try outs. Quite different.

The talent of that team overall was high school level. The better kids were dragged down by not having quality talent overall. That is not coaching. The is reality.
Coaches are not magicians. Can't make you great if you are not even good. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig.

They have text messages from him and MULTIPLE witnesses corroborating the info. BF contacted some of these women recently, presumably with the understanding that one of them was going public. The detail and corroboration of these incidents - including photos - leaves no doubt that he engaged inappropriate behavior with some of his players.
One was "consensual" but the player in hindsight realizes she was not really in a position to consent.
The other involved (i) forcing a girl to stay overnight in his house; (ii) forcing her to sleep in his bed; (iii) groping the girl; and (iv) later reaching out to her for no obvious reason other than to ask her to lie or not disclose what happened.
Those were certainly "bad choices" all right. And none of that involved a "consent" by the woman.
Let’s be honest he was several years older than his players not the same age. For some odd reason he seemed to have a sexual attraction to the players he coaches. This happened at UNH as a head coach, and then he went on to marry a player he coached at UMass. He will never get a job again in the coaching world.

As for the 01 Bucks coach, he took them to new levels of low! That team was loaded with talent and was one of the best teams in the ECNL before he took the team over. Kids left, players stopped showing up and DM did nothing!

There are coaches married to players. (Coach smith santa clara and brandi chastain, julie foudy, marion jones & track coach at unc..who was married).
This happens and there is more of an awareness to prevent this today. It just wasnt addressed yrs ago.
